I would rather stay at the homeless shelter than here

    rating30 Jul 2025

This place is not a guest house, motel or similar, this place is a house where the bunk beds are crammed and also serves as housing for the manager lady and an individual who looks homeless and on drugs, there is one bathroom with a functional shower and the bathroom upstairs does not have a sink... the homeless-like individual did not even know who I was despite of being around me all day and proceeded to kick me out, leaving me stranded without accomodation, the night I spent in the car was cleaner and safer than my disgraced stay at this facility. The website hotels dot com should be investigated for allowing sketchy unsafe places like this, there was a brawl and LAPD was involved the night before I was kicked out. In Spanish this is called a Olla, Pagadiario, Cambuche....

Stay away from this place it is unsafe!

    rating30 Dec 2024

Stay away! I booked this so-called hostel three days in advance, traveled 11 hours, and arrived at 11:00 p.m., only to be told by the manager behind the desk—who seemed about three-quarters drunk or high—that they didn’t have a room for me.I explained that I had made a reservation three days prior, and he responded, "First come, first served. I don’t care about reservations."When I tried to reason with him, the TV was blaring. I asked him to lower the volume, and he jumped up, started yelling, and said, "Is this loud enough for you, homie? If you want a f****** reservation, go to the Marriott. We don’t have rooms—first come, first served." He kept repeating himself and got in my face, trying to intimidate me while saying, "Loud enough for you now, bro? Or do you want me to speak louder?"Exhausted from traveling all day, I told him I wasn’t leaving and demanded something—anything—somewhere to stay. I ended up sleeping on a 5-foot couch in the hallway, even though I’m 6'2". People walked by all night, the lights stayed on, and I barely got any rest.Stay far away from this place.

    A hangout for marginalized contingent

    rating18 Aug 2023

When I looked for a good place for stay that to enjoy my vacation (2 weeks), I was excited about what I saw on the pictures and while I read all descriptions about this place; however, when I arrived (around 9 pm), I was shocked how crowded this place was and how stinky was there. This is a private house (where smell of sweat, weed and concetrated chlorine is a coomon deal) with 7 bedrooms and there are only 2 bathrooms. There is no elevator and you shall be carry on all your heavy luggage upstairs just using flimsy stairs. Although the information on the website stated that everyone can use all amentities, a kitchen and laundry is locked for guest using. There are many permanent residents live who systematically drunk and/or under influence, and you have to be very careful with them and do not interact with something. Otherwise, you can be assaulted, bulled or even hit by them. Neither police nor a landlord cannot do anything with them. Moreover, that two housekeepers (they also live in this premise) are acting as receptionists as well. You will never see any hospitality or good service from them. The maximum you can hear is "I need your ID" and "Check out is at 11:00". These people will force you to follow the rules which can be compared to the rules in prison. This hostel has 5 private rooms 3 of them are occupied by the permanent residents. Other 2 are never available online even if they are vacant. You have to pay extra cash (3 times higher than a regular rate) upon arrival if you want to get such a room. Parking is only on the street and try to take everything out from your car or you may lose it during the night. Also, keep all your values at your careful attention during the day because it can disappear. If you bring your food, you need to eat it and do not keep it in the refrigerator (that is leaking all the time) because someone can steal it. So, I would not recommend you to come there. There are a lot of other more reliable hotels where you will be respected and you will be able to take a nap in safety.

Feeling Thankful, Satisfied and Happy to be staying here

    rating25 Apr 2023

I would have given a full score if getting to it was a little, NOT BIG - just a tiny confusing but could have been just me. Besides that, the place is very, very great and very, very clean, especially for a hostel. When checking in, you may have to call a number on the door to get a desk person there so if you are a person that has ants in their pants and are raving against time, maybe not the best to try. The location is very, very good and the condition of the hostel is very good. It even has good warm water even late at night. One of the best hostels I have been in and I have been in a few. Very close to the airport and bus connections as well. Come enjoy LA at this hostel and have a pleasant experience at least as far as what my experience has been so far. Yes, the beds and pillows are very good too.
