Very kind staff and comfy beds!

    rating18 Apr 2026

My family and I had a very pleasant stay at the Residence Inn in Garden Grove. The beds were comfy and the full kitchen was a game changer. What struck me was the consistent kindness of the staff. Pedro was especially helpful in securing us a late checkout after a car accident left us scrambling for towing and a rental for the 3 hour ride home. He was so compassionate and it felt like we were surrounded by angels during such a challenging time. We will definitely stay here again! Thank you all! Island Hospitality, Owner at Residence Inn by Marriott Anaheim Resort Area/Garden Grove, responded to this review Thank you so much for sharing your story with us. We’re truly glad your family felt comfortable and supported during such a stressful time, and we’ll be sure to recognize Pedro for his compassion and care. We’re so happy we could be a small bright spot during your stay and look forward to welcoming you back again.

    DO NOT STAY HERE

    rating03 Apr 2026

You could not pay me to stay at this hotel again. While the staff was friendly, the hotel should be labeled as a 1 star MOTEL. The bathrooms are more than outdated- they are littered with water stains and mildew and worse, the rooms all had an old smell to them, the baseboards had chew marks and missing chunks out of them, and the fridge had holes and dents in the front panel. The couch was broken in the middle so three people sitting on it would end up sitting together in the middle. While this would be acceptable if the pictures and description was accurate- let me set the record straight that this is FAR from a Marriott, but absolutely RIDICULOUS that it is labeled a Residence Inn. Marriott should actually be ashamed and embarrassed they consider this hotel one of their own. The fact that we paid premium prices for this shi*t hole was a disgusting way to exploit families out of more money for the "proximity to Disneyland". I've stayed at nicer hotels for less than half the price. We stayed here for the convenience for our family of 6 to get to Disneyland. I booked the "Shuttle and Stay" package so we could avoid parking at Disney. No where in the booking did it ask for how many shuttle passes needed, or the day it was needed. However- when booking the room, I appropriately put in our kids' ages and how many adults- making sure we would all have a spot on the shuttle. When we checked in- I was informed that the room only came with 4 passes and they were booked for the CHECK IN date. Why in the world would I need a shuttle pass for the day we CHECK INTO the hotel? THEN they informed me that the shuttle IS NOT EVEN ON THEIR OWN PROPERTY and we would need to walk five minutes down to the Hyatt to catch the shuttle and try to reserve the two extra seats needed. This was comical considering we were paying the MARRIOTT for a shuttle pass- yet one they were not even providing? Disgrace. We ended up driving our rental car and parking ourselves at Disney- which was pain free and far easier than expected- we left the hotel around 930am and got into the parks by 1030am. I would much rather have planned that route knowing we paid extra for the shuttle passes and ended up having to pay the $60 for parking. In fact- I would have rather stayed at a listed motel and saved money on all parts. We left the hotel grossed out, feeling dirty, and knowing we paid WAY TOO MUCH more the experience we had. The only positive was that we arrived to the hotel much later than expected- so the kids didn't have to try and enjoy the dirty pool and we could just go straight to sleep. This was by far the worst experience and a huge bait and switch. Don't trust the website, pictures or anything other than the negative reviews. Save your money and avoid this crap hotel. Jay Lopez, Guest Services / Front Office at Residence Inn by Marriott Anaheim Resort Area/Garden Grove, responded to this review Hello Torie P, I would like to take the time to thank you first and foremost for staying with us. I also want to apologize for not meeting your expectations during your stay with us at the Residence Inn Garden Grove. In Regards to the issues that you encountered in the room these will all be addressed with my housekeeping and maintenance team to ensure that this does not happen again in the future and we can use this as a learning experience to elevate our guest service. I understand that there was compensation done by our front desk team in giving you complimentary parking for two vehicles. Now for our shuttle package it does state in the details prior to booking that it accommodates up to 4 shuttle tickets. If there is any other way that we may be able to assist you please feel free to reach out to our guest service team.

    Enjoyed most of our stay!

    rating21 Mar 2026

Later in the evening, went to game room to relax with my granddaughter and nieces. Wanted to purchase 4 cards at $25.00 worth of credits for them to play. Inserted the $100 and no cards were dispense. Went to front desk to seek help and was told there was nothing they could do. The best the worker could do was offer 2 cards worth $15.00 on each card and 2 blank cards that I could load with my own money. Asked to speak with a manager but no manager was on property. Call a manager, but was told the manager will not answer the call. I checked out of hotel and still problem was not resolved. Island Hospitality, Owner at Residence Inn by Marriott Anaheim Resort Area/Garden Grove, responded to this review Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention, and we sincerely apologize for the frustration and disappointment you experienced while trying to enjoy time in the game room with your family. The situation you described—losing funds without receiving the game cards, not having the issue immediately resolved, and being unable to reach a manager—is absolutely not acceptable and does not reflect the level of service we strive to provide. We understand how upsetting it must have been, especially after making the effort to seek help and still leaving without a resolution. Your feedback has been escalated to hotel management for urgent review, including the functionality of the game room equipment and our staff’s response and escalation process when issues arise after hours. We regret that this impacted your stay and appreciate you taking the time to share your experience so corrective action can be taken.

Major Privacy Violation and Terrible Service

    rating02 Oct 2025

This hotel stay was a complete disaster. The beds were hard as a rock, the front desk was rude, and the water at breakfast tasted like toilet water.Worst of all, a staff member used a master key to enter my room without permission — a serious violation of privacy. The hotel refused to take responsibility, and the Director of Rooms avoided all contact, never offering an apology. There is zero accountability or respect for guests here. My whole family felt unsafe, unheard, and completely dismissed. Jay Lopez, Guest Services / Front Office at Residence Inn by Marriott Anaheim Resort Area/Garden Grove, responded to this review Hello 638rachaelx,Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your stay was not up to your standards. We have tried reaching out via email to no response. Please reach out at your earliest convenience.Kind Regards.

    Creepy Crawl Inn

    rating13 Sept 2025

My stay at the Creepy Crawl Inn was a masterclass in survival horror. The bed bugs threw a welcome party, nibbling me into a polka-dot nightmare.Spiders, the size of my regrets, staged a ceiling convention, dropping in uninvited. The door refused to shut or lock, inviting every passing stranger to join the chaos.Room service? A myth, like clean sheets or hope. The elevator, a sadistic puzzle, skipped odd-numbered floors, trapping me in a cardio-inducing stairwell odyssey. For thrill-seekers and masochists, this hotel’s a five-star disaster. Everyone else, run. Jay Lopez, Guest Services / Front Office at Residence Inn by Marriott Anaheim Resort Area/Garden Grove, responded to this review Hello Derek, Thank you so much for taking the time to provide us with feedback on your stay with us. We would like to make this right for you and discuss further. Please feel free to reach out at your earliest convenience.
