  Dog fee $100. Dog area not lit. No free breakfast. Small bathroom. No water pressure. Ice machine broken. no microwave in room.   Pros: affordable, Friendly front desk. Very quiet hotel Beds and pillows very comfortable Requested extra towels and they were promptly brought to our room Con: only one mirror in the entire room . They need to replace the artwork with more mirrors Guests are over charged for continental grab n go breakfast with no fruit choices.   A late night cancellation of our Australia bound American Airlines flight saw us checking in after 2AM. Staff were fantastic, given I think the sudden contact made by American Airlines may have woken the night manager up (his name tag was on upside down so my blurry eyes coudnt make out his name). Check in was smooth, bed was comfortable.Amir was the day man, and helped us out with suggestions on what was close by. A pleasant, if unplanned, stay.   We stayed here on an interim basis for a couple of nights until we attended a wedding elsewhere in LA. The place is right on the highway, not very well marked and looks like something else till you come right to it. The approach, the initial reception etc is a one level building. The actual rooms are in taller buildings it is connected to. The reception is a little tired and the cafe area really should do better food and drinks than it does. The service was friendly (special thanks to "Shady") and the amenities were fairly standard. Nothing above or below average. We could see the pool, but did not have the time. Would have liked some sort of nice onsite breakfast or options, but alas. It is also just off the highway, not sure what else was nearby where we could have eaten. Did not have time to check as we landed and left at odd hours and had somewhere else to be.   Enjoyable Stay, just a couple of issues.

  We visited the Sonesta Select in Torrance while in the area to put our son and daughter-in-law's pet on a plane to New Zealand. The room was very clean, the bed comfortable and service was great. I only have 2 complaints. Would be nice if all rooms had a microwave. There was one next to an ice vending machine down the hallway. The other issue was that there were several people partying in the parking, smoking and drinking, and leaning on my truck late one night. There doesn't seem to be much security around the outside of the premises.
