    ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Review of The Hoxton Los Angeles, and a Royal Decree Regarding Lorna MartinezAs a motorcoach driver, I spend more nights in hotels than I do at home. I’ve stayed in places where the ice machine was the nicest amenity and I’ve stayed in places where the shampoo deserved its own security detail.The Hoxton Los Angeles is something entirely different.From the moment you walk through the doors, the place feels like vintage Hollywood, modern luxury, and impeccable design all got together and agreed to show off. The lobby is gorgeous. The restaurant is stunning. The rooms are beautiful, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. Everywhere you look, there are details that make you stop and appreciate the space.But the true luxury of any hotel is its people.And that brings me to Lorna Martinez.If The Hoxton is a castle, Lorna is the queen who keeps the kingdom running.Her personality is larger than the hotel itself. Her smile could light the entire lobby. She somehow manages to be professional, welcoming, hilarious, and genuinely caring all at the same time. Every interaction felt less like checking into a hotel and more like being welcomed by a friend who was genuinely glad to see you.In an industry where people often remember buildings, I suspect many guests leave remembering Lorna.She is one of those rare people who makes hospitality feel personal.Now, I must also discuss one of the most bizarre and delightful things I’ve ever encountered in a hotel.The Hoxton currently has an AI-powered massage robot.Friends, I did not have “being pampered by a machine from the future” on my 2026 bingo card.At some point during my stay I found myself staring at what looked like something NASA misplaced, only to discover that it was apparently there to beat the stress out of road-weary travelers.As a bus driver who has spent thousands of miles wrestling highways, mountains, traffic, weather, and occasionally his own poor life choices, I can assure you that having a robot professionally work on your back while you contemplate your existence is an experience everyone should try at least once.The future has arrived.It does not fly.It does not hover.It gives massages.And frankly, I’m okay with that.Between the beautiful rooms, the gorgeous property, the exceptional food, the incredible atmosphere, the futuristic massage robot, and the absolute gem that is Lorna Martinez, The Hoxton has become one of my favorite hotel experiences in Los Angeles.Five stars are not enough.I’d gladly stay here again.And if Lorna is working the desk and the robot is still accepting appointments, I may never leave.— Scott ElswickProfessional Bus Driver • Vegan Wing Enthusiast • Frequent Hotel Critic • Survivor of California Traffic • Proud Recipient of Future Robot Massage Technology 🤖✨🏨❤️ The Hoxton LA, Owner at The Hoxton Downtown LA, responded to this review Hi ScottePGY,We appreciate your kind words about the unique atmosphere and design of The Hoxton, Downtown LA.     We had a great experience at the Hoxton. We were greeted by Lorna and treated well from the word go.     We stayed for the first time, a couple visiting for leaisure for the weekend, and we brought our dogs. The entire staff at the hotel were so welcoming, and efficient.     Very unique hotel in downtown LA. Very friendly staff. Unusual decor. Lots of available amenities. Restaurant and cafe food are great.     The room was comfortable except for the light switch not always working. Location is very central but not many restaurants or coffee shops around. I did not feel safe walking around the area in the evening. I would never go back to the hotel again, considering the inconsiderate service we received from management.
