    Areas of improvement

    rating26 May 2026

Upon arriving at reception... oh, surprise! The receptionist could barely speak a word of English. It's a Korean hotel, managed administratively by Koreans who don't speak the languages needed to serve international tourists. They struggle to communicate in English. My stay was ten days due to family matters. Hispanic immigrants handle housekeeping, but the system of putting a sign outside the door requesting cleaning is constantly being blown down... and for that reason, they don't clean. Very poor in that regard. Then, you go to the reception, and they don't know how to answer or resolve anything; it was a real hassle to get clean towels for the next day. The air conditioning works very well, and the hotel is quiet. The furniture is old. The only extraordinary thing was that the room had a small microwave and a small refrigerator, which helped me buy food and store it for dinner. There is no security outside the hotel. If you're traveling without a car, you should return before dark because the area is very isolated and dangerous, with many criminals and drug addicts. Renting or bringing a car is the best option. As a suggestion, the management of the ROTEX hotel should hire staff to assist guests in different languages or at least have someone who speaks perfect English. The experience was very poor in terms of service and cleanliness at the hotel.

    Needs to improve

    rating09 Sept 2023

The location is reasonable with very convenient Parking and the parking is monitored. The receptionists were okay enough to deal with. The lobby area and corridor walls to the rooms need to be repainted as look dirty. The communal / terrace / patio table and chairs area is in the middle of the building with the room doors facing on to this. Can the Management please put table and chair covers over the table and chairs after 10 pm ( have a 10pm Curfew outside the rooms ). When we arrived there was a group of people having wine sat around the table. This just felt really weird considering they were sat outside our door and were chatting loudly until after midnight. Not nice when you have to get up early too.The above gave this place a hostel feel with less privacy. The little greenery space with shrubs near the patio had many dead leaves in.The rooms look nothing like the clean images on hotel sites. The table old and chairs inside the room were disgustingly dirty, we didn’t sit at all on the chairs.A kettle would have been nice to have hot water. The room had no outlook and was noisy from extractor fans outside not especially the hotels issue but just pointing out.On a positive clean towels were provided and they made the bed.I am not a fussy traveller but the management do the bare minimum with this place and it has a slightly given up feel. If I were to travel back to LA would try somewhere else even though it might be slightly more as this had a hostel feel which isn’t great when you have gone away for a Holiday. Given the reviews above haven’t been responded to I doubt very much the Management look on Tripadvisor. I don’t think it would take much effort to address the issues pointed out. If they did then I may return when they get some positive reviews.

    Terrible experience

    rating18 Apr 2022

Hotel is old and unattended, smell of cigarette in the elevator and halls. Been trying to cancel our stay but the staff can’t give me their cancelation policies, they say o it the manager can. Been waiting for the manager half of the day and staff don’t even seem to care. People coming in and out late at night, hotel needs a lot of maintenance .

Price was good, location was pretty good. free parking inside. Rooms were clean, could use a bit of repair but overall pretty good. Room advertised a coffee maker, however none were in the room. Check in was pretty easy.

    Horrible

    rating22 Jul 2017

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The room is very outdated and the furniture is in bad condition. The bathroom door has paint chipping, the tub seems to have mildew of some sort, the table is scratched up with pink market on it, the night stands are scratched up, the bed seems like it is going to fall apart. I paid $137 for one night(taxes included) and a jail cell is probably cleaner than this. I wanted to get a refund but the lady at the front desk doesn't even speak English. I am writing this review and it has only been 30 min since I've been in the room. I don't know if I should just lose the money I paid and go elsewhere or not. Worst hotel ever!
