Nice area, hotel going through a renovation.
28 Apr 2026
The area around the hotel had ample food options close by. The hotel was going through a much needed renovation. The room was clean but very worn. Obvious damage and the room was in need of some TLC. Breakfast was average and nothing special. I found the staff to be very helpful and accommodating. There was an issue with the ice machine on the 2nd floor and the front staff went above and beyond to help out. I am interested in seeing the outcome of the renovations and would stay there again. Jean Joseph, Owner at Hampton Inn & Suites Mahwah, responded to this review Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. We truly value your honest observations. We are pleased that you enjoyed the convenient location and found our staff helpful and accommodating, especially during the ice machine issue. We will commend the team for their extra effort. We also sincerely apologize that your room did not meet expectations. Your comments about the wear and the need for updates are very important to us. As you mentioned, we are currently renovating, and feedback like yours helps us focus on the areas most important to our guests. We appreciate your thoughts on breakfast and will consider them as we seek ways to enhance the overall experience. It means a lot that you would consider staying with us again, and we look forward to welcoming you back soon so you can see the improvements firsthand.
