  Three cheers for Manager Monica, and the kitchen crew!

  This review is not for the facility, it is for its workers. We stayed at the Mahwah Homewood Suites for a sleep-in getaway weekend. Monica Brosius was the primary staff person that weekend, and was incredibly professional and kind to us. And so were the kitchen staffers and cooks! They had a salsa egg dish that was so flavorful, and is unique to that specific Homewood Suites because one man cared enough to try something to delight guests. (I think the chef's name was Dwayne, I think the breakfast worker was Cathy, they were both the loveliest.)Back to Monica. When we had issues with noise in our room from the AC (it woke me every hour on the hour all night), Monica sent an engineer to investigate. Every request we made she accommodated if at all possible, swiftly, with kindness and professionalism — which is remarkable because not only was the hotel totally sold out, it was with unrelated constituencies. There was an on-site scrapbooking event, a Renaissance fair nearby, and an annual Township event literally next door; all those people had totally different needs. It was further remarkable because, the entire time, she was down one staff person. Someone called out and no sub arrived, so she was managing all of this by herself, and yet was smiling and responsive every single time.   Outstanding assistance from Monica Brosius!We has a problem with our first room - toilet wouldn't flush; shower drain very slow; ceiling was water stained and there was a 3-4" hole in the middle of the water stain. Monica transferred us to a very nice room for the next day of our stay.   In dire need of a renovation

  I have stayed at this hotel numerous times and this is my first time writing a review. I’m not sure how this hotel gets such high marks when it is completely outdated. The rooms seem to have the original furniture from 25 years ago when it opened. The couches feel gross and the chairs are stained. While I think housekeeping does a great job, the tiredness of the rooms just gives off an icky feel. The toilets here flush slowly and often clog. On my last stay my toilet clogged so I went downstairs to use the toilets by the bathroom and both were clogged. Even outside the rooms the tiredness shows in the hallways where the floors are uneven and there are depressions you notice when walking that are actually a safety hazard. In the hallways on the third floor the ceiling tiles look to be in terrible shape and are uneven and look like they could fall at anytime. On this particular stay the fire alarm went off before 8am because it was being tested. This should certainly be done at a later hour as it woke my toddler. At breakfast on 2 days there was no regular coffee left and the staff said it would be 15 minutes for new coffee. That just seems like something that should be readily available. Also, I noticed that the make your own waffles was only available on the weekends whereas before it was available each day of my stay. I will say that the staff here is generally super nice. However, do not expect any wiggle room on a late checkout even for Diamond members as they will say the hotel is sold out (all I wanted was 12pm instead of 11am). This is easily checked on the Hilton app where I can see at least 9 rooms available for the coming night, including the exact room type I was staying in. I don’t appreciate being lied too. The Hampton Inn down the road is currently being fully renovated and once completed it will clearly be the place to stay. I only hope the Homewood Suites takes a similar path and renovates this tired property. It is our goal to ensure that our guests are completely satisfied and I apologize that this was not the case as it relates to your stay.I would like to address a couple of your concerns to provide clarity. * Breakfast during the week features our Taco Bar which is not offered on the weekends. As you mentioned on the weekends we offer the waffles but not the Taco's. Compared to the other hotels in the area we feel that we offer a superior breakfast as our breakfast is a full buffet versus an abbreviated one or Continental Breakfast.* Fire Alarm - This was an annual required inspection and unfortunately the testing company neglected to take the horns offline at the early time. By no means is this is a justification of any sort. The Horns were set off as scheduled at 2pm which is more desirable time to do so.* Late check out. We try to accommodate everyone as much as possible but, in these cases, even if we show rooms to sell, we know that they will easily sell by the end of the afternoon especially since World Cup was in town. Not only do we have requests for late check outs, but we have triple the requests for early check in and we have to balance them out.* As for renovation I can assure you it is the main topic in regard to the company's plans and currently it is being planned for 2027 and when in 2027 will be determined by the level of business.Once again my apologies and hope you may reconsider and give us another chance to serve your needs. Internally we always try to provide top notch service which in some cases we hope will over come any other deficiencies.Thank you for sharing and wish you the best in your travels.

  A wonderful stay at Homewood Suites Mahwah

  I recently had the pleasure of staying at Homewood Suites by Hilton Mahwah, and the experience exceeded my expectations. The hotel offers spacious, comfortable, and well-maintained suites that truly make you feel at home. The overall atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing.What truly sets this hotel apart, however, is its outstanding staff.   Good stay overall. It met all expectations, with well-maintained amenities, friendly staff, and a very pleasant experience throughout.
