Very rundown, old & dirty hotel. Decent pool, nice staff

    rating03 Sept 2025

The area has plenty nearby - supermarket, fast food and restaurants. The car park backs on to a hotel with some dodgy things going on - I seen drug deals and homelessness in the middle of the day. Clean check in area and friendly staff. I was allocated a room on the ground floor right at the exit to the car park. I really didn’t feel safe there having seen some intimidating behaviour in the car park for the hotel opposite (super 8) on arrival. Andrew was kind enough to immediately switch me to the 4th floor. Breakfast is decent - eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, waffles, fruit, yoghurts, fruit drinks and coffee. The pool area is kept clean, water area is a nice temperature - can go from inside to outside in the pool. Indoor hot tub warm and clean. The gym area is small but functions fine, the laundry again one machine and one dryer but work fine, large ice machines available. There is a small shop on site for snacks etc. The rooms are so old and worn, I stayed 10 days (changed room halfway through due to finding a bug in the bed - not a bed bug) and room wasn’t serviced once, no change of towels. Thankfully due to changing room and my new room having 2 bathrooms I didn’t run out of towels. Very thin walls so you can hear the televisions and conversations from your neighbours even when they are not being loud! The furniture in the lounge area is AWFUL - old dark blue sofa/chair that feel dirty and makes your skin itchy! The bathrooms are really worn and rundown, the showers are old and take forever to get warm. There are damp patches on the roof, the bathroom fan didn’t work and the bathtub was stained with rust. The TVs are smart TVs which was great to be able to login to Netflix/Amazon Prime etc, really easy to set up by scanning a QR code via phone camera. The entire 4th floor stunk of weed, I also experienced a night where some unruly guests banged on my door throughout the evening and into the early hours of the morning. The room telephone didn’t work, and the reception phone wasn’t answered overnight so I had to risk my safety and go down to reception at 1.40am to inform staff of what was going on. The man on reception came up to the 4th floor, told me he couldn’t smell weed and even knocked on the guests door that had troubled me whilst I was with him! Most unsafe! The rooms need deep cleaning - there are horrible smears on the walls . The carpets are old and worn and need replacing urgently. I wouldn’t stay here again as I felt very unsafe and like I was staying somewhere very unclean. One thing I will mention is that whilst checking in I saw a maid taking AirPods to reception that she had found in a room so the staff do seem trustworthy and are very helpful, it’s just a shame the hotel is in such a bad state as the size of the hotel/rooms has such potential to be great! Kiran Palmer, Revenue Management at Comfort Inn & Suites, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for choosing to stay with us. We apologize for the shortcomings that you have highlighted. We have already initiated appropriate actions for improvements as per your feedback. You will certainly notice the changes on your next visit. Not again!

Woke up to Marijuana smell, couldn't shower in own room as vent kept pulling smell through bathroom. Went to the other room we had for our son to shower, as his exhaust fan didn't work. Shower didn't drain. Carpet is bunched up, electrical outlets covered up and coming off walls, water stains, TVs have trouble finding internet. Water bottle from previous customer left in fridge. Very dim lights - nothing like the internet pictures! Didn't use hot tub or pool as they were green... Large handicapped room. Very comfortable bed and a clean, quiet room. Issue with door going entering room. Extremely difficult to pull or push open. My husband is handicapped with a broken leg and using a walker. He would not have been able to get into or out of the room. I could barely get it opened, required both hands and a lot of pushing nd or pulling. Also the lighting in the bathroom was extremely poor, making it somewhat unsafe to see well. A few leaks and some bad smells...

    rating17 Jun 2025

The staff here were great. Andrew really knows how to communicate with people and is excellent at talking on the phone as he answers questions. However, to recommend staying in this hotel, I sadly would not recommend at all. We had to be moved from a room that had a moldy smell. We tried to stay in it, but couldn't handle it after a time. Also, in that bathroom, the tiles in the bathroom ceiling were sagging down, and I wonder if there is possibly water damage? We were given a new room, which had less of an awful smell, but still had a bit of one. When our son went to get into bed in our new room, his socks were wet from the floor, and the carpet was curled up in the middle of the floor. The next day, we said something and were told the floors had been cleaned. Later in our stay, there was a BAD storm and it rained very hard, then our floor was more damp. Wonder, is there a leak in the air conditioning or wall from the outside? During the storm, we went to breakfast, only to have water drip from the ceiling onto my food and table as I ate in the breakfast area. I, in an upbeat way, went and asked a few questions. They shared that they had recently hired a maintenance guy. I'm feeling sorry for the gentleman or team who is going to have to face all the things that need fixed. We won't be staying at this place when we go to Kansas again. The few members of the team we got to meet were great too. Oh, my husband also came home with a few bits on his side, unsure if they came from the hotel...but we were in our friend's homes, so wonder, did they come from the hotel? Kiran Palmer, Revenue Management at Comfort Inn & Suites, responded to this review Dear valued guest, Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback about your stay. We apologize for the issues you experienced with moldy smells, water damage, and damp floors in your rooms, as well as the water leak in the breakfast area. We'll investigate these issues and take necessary steps to address them. We appreciate your kind words about our staff, particularly Andrew, and will pass on your feedback. We'll also look into the pest issue to ensure our rooms are comfortable and clean for all guestsGM
