  Charged $80 for a room even though it said $70 online. I was told that was because I wanted 2 beds. Room was clean; bathroom was clean- but shower was barely warm (outside temp were freezing- so a cold shower was no fun). Bfast muffins were pretty bad- we both threw them away.   Super 8 by Wyndham LakelandLakelandit was less than acceptable. I should have slept in my car.This place is a dump, and the listing details, particularly on the location website are untruthful and misleading. I asked for an 'accessible' room. I guess, being partially handicapped, I didn't expect that that meant they had an elevator, to help me to the third floor where I could then walk halfway around the property to access my room.The room was (what I've come to know as) typical Wyndham offerings: a shoddy room, with a broken lamp, a dirty bathroom, and power outlets that are all disfunctional and more loose and unuseable. WHY is this?On top of that: the pool was closed (that would have changed my selection had I known, as I was traveling and particularly picked a location WITH a pool) and ther was NO "Continental breakfast" to be had a 9am. None.I asked for a partial refund, I was met with a dead stare like the innkeeper at the desk suddently didn't speak English.I'm highly disappointed in Wyndham for not providing any kind of follow-up on more than a handful of shoddy properties under this Corporate banner. And I'm through with staying at Super 8 properties. They're all dumps. Even at a low rate, you can do better.   OK Room, Rude and Unfriendly Staff

  Room was adequate, clean and quiet. The property is very run down and could use a lot of TLC. Front desk staff was incredibly unfriendly and seemed a little hostile (and from other reviews I’ve seen this is apparently the norm). When checking out, the clerk simply grabbed my key card and flipped his hand as if to say “get out of here". In over 50 years of traveling, that level of rudeness was a first for me. Really a bad vibe all around from these people who don’t really seem to understand the “hospitality” part of “hospitality business”. We come through Memphis several times a year but won’t make the mistake of staying here again.   My sister and I were traveling to Virginia to see my grandson graduate law school. I choose this place because it allowed my fur babies. I'm glad I did. It was quiet and peaceful. Very clean. The beds were comfortable. The staff was friendly. Great place to stay.
