Great National Park Lodge to Stay At

    rating27 Nov 2025

This is a great national park lodge to stay at. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the price was very reasonable for a national park. The restaurant for dinner was incredibly good. The breakfast available was decent but not great. Being in Mesa Verde National Park, it is very convenient for seeing the park.

    Beautiful location and spectacular views.

Room was rustic but had all necessary needs accessories and was very clean. I recommend arriving before sunset to get some great shots.

Terrible service from the staff and manager

    rating03 Oct 2025

I have never had to write a review like this ever! Beware. The only thing good about this lodge is the location. Dining staff was nice . Food and bar decent. We checked into the lodge and was given rm 132. DO NOT stay in that room unless it has been renovated. The room was falling apart. No water at all came out of the hot water handle in sink. The half bath you could barely get in to use the toilet. The toilet paper holder was broken. The TP was just hanging from a side handle. The one chair in the room was all chewed up. There was an old Bose type radio clock. On the deck the HVAC cover was broken off. The outside chairs plastic wiring was unraveling. One chair you couldn’t sit in for more than 5 mins. There was no coffee maker but coffee. Asked the front desk for one after dinner, she looked to see if she had one. Said they didn’t. Didn’t problem solve, like we will grab you one from another rm. we had to come back not a half hour later to say we had NO hot water in the rm. when we tried to shower. she(front desk) says we will check it tomorrow. What? What do we do in the meantime? Went to bed angry. Emailed the manger at 1 in the morning. No reply. Went to the front desk in the am. At least the manager was there this time. She gave us a key to another room to shower in and refunded us $200. We didn’t want to move rooms as we were already unpacked from the evening before and on our way out to tours. We get back to shower in rm. 136. We were shocked at the difference. It was beautiful. I looked back at my reservation and low and behold, we reserved and paid for these type of room in June. A deluxe with a full bath ( which to everyone means a full bathroom which 136 had and we had no such thing in 132.) We went to check out. I admit I was anger. Said we wanted a full refund since we weren’t given a room we paid for. The gentleman asked what rm we were in. He goes oh you were given that rm b/c we were overbooked. What? Then why was rm. 136 available. We were given a credit but it was a credit for an amount that we were billed, while there that we shouldn’t have since we had already prepaid the entire amount. It was the balance minus the $200. Boy I hope you can follow this. Still fighting for the true refund of the balance, which I was told by the manager they never offered. If they didn’t offer it why was there a credit given in the amount of the balance? Of course it was for the amount we shouldn’t have been charged in the first place. All in all the manger was slightly helpful. The front desk needs problem solving training, customer service training and that they never say to a guest, client or customer “It’s not my fault”. And to top it off, the ice maker didn’t work. No sign to say you may get some from front desk. I had to go ask. I gave some of our ice to another couple who didn’t know what to do. Very poor customer service. Don’t unpack until you check your room thoroughly. Check to be sure they give you the room you paid for.

    Location, Location, Location

    rating02 Oct 2025

The main and, for my family, only reason to stay here is the location. You simply cannot beat the sunrise and sunset! You also do not have to make the trip up and down the mountain daily - huge bonus. Less favorable would be the noise factor. I did not have a good understanding of "paper thin walls" until this visit. We could hear every single thing on both sides, inside and out. Definitely paper-thin walls! We had 2 rooms - 1 was perfect and the 2nd could have stood a good cleaning. Our interactions with the staff were favorable - they were friendly and helpful with suggestions. All in all - if we were coming back to this NP, we would definitely stay here again. (Just bring ear plugs)

    Horrible Experience

    rating27 Sept 2025

The location for visiting the park is excellent. However the experience and staff attitude are horrible. The toilet was mounted lower than a normal toilet making it unusable. Our check-inwas delayed by two hours duets short staffing according to registration staff. The lounge staff was overwhelmed due to the lack of staffing. If Aramafk cannot properly staff and maintain the facilities the Park Service should fine a company that will.
