Run away as fast as you can……This place is a HAZARD to your health!!!!!!!!! I’m calling the Health Inspector.

I checked in around 5pm as i was in town for a dance competition at the Miami Convention center. As soon as a checked in, the employees left and didn't even give me time to check the room in case I needed additional pillows or towels. Given I was in a rush, I thought nothing of it and thought I would have time a little later after our dance event. When I returned back with the family and began settling down, I noticed the bathroom was disgustingly unclean with MOLD on the window and windows curtain faucet. There was literal garbage swept under the beds and couch. The housekeeping didn’t even clean our room. The floors were somewhat dirty and my Wife instructed my kids not to walk without their shoes barefoot. I decided to stay given the 12am time of settling in and address my issues with management in the morning and OF COURSE there was no Manger on site in the morning just a new trainee. Who trains without proper supervision onsite (RED FLAG). I was still asleep while the trainee spoke to my wife while she expressed her dissatisfaction and on top of that, they charged us a late check out fee REGARDLESS of our concerns. After I woke up, I went directly to the guest services (Aka Trainee) to speak about checking out thinking they would have some courtesy and not even charge me a late checkout fee. I was redirected to the Manager named John via phone and he was so rude telling me he worked for the Marriott in the past (I WONDER WHY HE NO LONGER WORKS THERE? )and when I told him about the health concerns of our room, he said there was nothing wrong without even being there physically to see it and that they have quality rooms lol I told the trainee to follow me back to the room and she herself was shocked after I showed her the mold in various areas of the room and said she understood my concern's but that she couldn’t do anything because her Manger didn’t care and this was not the first time guests complained about this even though she has raised the concerns to him in the past. DO NOT take any risks with your family at this place, I’m filing an investigation request from the city of MIAMI of this place.

We found mold, worms coming out of the shower drain, a filthy baby crib, and left the property after 3 hours

    rating30 Oct 2025

We stayed at 1818 Meridian House by Eskape Collection (1816 Meridian Ave, Miami Beach) with our crawling infant, and it turned out to be one of the worst lodging experiences we’ve ever had.The room was dirty — mosquitoes, the baby crib was disgusting with visible mold, a strong odor of sweat and garbage, and brown and black stains on the mattress. Despite informing the hotel we were bringing a baby, the crib was completely unsanitary. While showering, we saw worms and maggots coming out of the drain, which was horrifying and was the last straw. The main bed also had stains, further proving the room had not been properly cleaned. Imagine your crawling baby dealing with drain maggots and worms. To be clear, we’ve stayed in many places and are not overly sensitive — we’re frequent hikers and used to rustic conditions. But this was not about being picky; it was simply unhygienic and unsafe. After less than three hours, once the worms appeared in the room, we packed our things and left immediately, unable to stay any longer. The staff claimed that rooms are sanitized before guests arrive, but based on our experience, that claim seems highly questionable. We have photos and videos documenting everything. This property needs urgent sanitation inspection and management review. Until that happens, I strongly recommend avoiding this place, especially for families with children.

1818 Meridian House Serviced Apartment ReviewOur experience at 1818 Meridian House fell significantly short of expectations, resembling more of a motel than a serviced apartment.First and foremost, the soundproofing in our unit was inadequate, leading to constant disturbances from conversations and activities in the neighboring apartment. This made it uncomfortable to relax or sleep both during the day and night. Additionally, I was concerned about privacy and security when I noticed light filtering through the locked door that connects to what I thought was an adjoining room as we often heard people speaking but it was actually a staircase which could be problematic for guests seeking privacy. The bedroom also posed major privacy concerns; the bed faced a floor-to-ceiling window that overlooked a walkway. Unless the curtains were drawn, passersby could easily see into the room. The apartment complex lacked several essential amenities, notably an elevator. This made transporting luggage up a flight of stairs inconvenient and physically taxing, especially for older guests. Furthermore, the only washing machine and dryer available for guest use were frequently occupied by housekeeping staff who used them for towels and other laundry, preventing us from utilizing these facilities during our stay. Even when housekeeping left for the day, they often left their items in the machines, forcing guests to remove them in order to do laundry.Security concerns also arose from the entrance to the apartments, which featured a common gate code and a five-foot gate that failed to close automatically. As a result, it was often left open, compromising guest safety. The layout of the one-bedroom apartment was misleading. The open-plan design, with no separation between the kitchen, living room, and bedroom, felt more like a studio than a true one-bedroom unit, which was not in line with our expectations. Safety issues were also alarming during our stay. The cupboards were too high to reach the pots and cups. The microwave in our apartment malfunctioned and caught fire. This was a distressing experience, and after our checkout, I was unexpectedly charged for a replacement microwave without consent, despite the incident being out of our control. Unable to reach anyone at the property for weeks through calls and messages, I finally spoke to a staff member who was unhelpful and rude. He claimed that the microwave company stated the appliance was misused, even though it had not been checked prior to our arrival and had never been misused by us. What added to the frustration was the absence of on-site staff to assist with the fire when it occurred, as they left around 6 PM.Additionally, I encountered issues with billing upon check-in, where I was overcharged. Although another staff member acknowledged this mistake and promised a refund, I never received it.Lastly, I observed mold in the bathroom, which poses health risks, and the cheap laminate flooring was in poor condition and in need of immediate repair. The lack of attention to these issues further detracted from our overall experience at 1818 Meridian House.

Not a "boutique" hotel. Not even close...

    rating22 Jan 2025

I'm writing this because I've already tried reasoning with management to see if we could be refunded any of our money, but to no avail. I usually trust Tripadvisor reviews, but these missed the boat. Rather than looking like a boutique hotel, it was more like Motel 6. There's no lobby, and check-in is in their disorganized upstairs office...when someone is there. There was a parking fee for a tiny lot in front with spots so tight we could barely get out. Although we booked a month ahead of time, we were given one of the worst rooms: A front room with tiny windows and right on the street so no privacy, tacky furniture, and a mildewed smell. No other place to sit except the bed and two uncomfortable tall plastic chairs. The shower was weak and there were only 2 scratchy bath towels. No tissues and one roll of TP. Crumbling paint on the windowsill. Cheap uncomfortable outdoor chairs. When we complained, we were told the management was out wouldn't be back for 3 days and they had no other rooms available.
