  when you check in you will be told free coffee and tea but when you go to the room No Coffee or tea facility in rooms ,If you go after 11 am there is no coffee !that is the first joke on youwhen you check out then there is resort fee of 300 Dollars you start thinking did I check in a resort ? you look at the receipt it is Hotel ! simply this is the second jock on youwhen you are in the room the AC is not AC, it is air cooler , you can't make the temperature set to below 69F in a humid city!Don't go there my advice based or true experience I suggest you ask the people who did the excellent review ask them these three points and see their answers.   The Avalon Hotel should get 3.5 stars but 3 stars would be too low given the cleanliness, location, and overall value for a brief visit.The location is excellent, right in the heart of Miami Beach and within easy walking distance of restaurants, shops, and the beach. Our room was clean but very small. There was just barely enough space to open our suitcases, and little room beyond that to unpack comfortably. For our short stay, this was manageable. However, if you’re planning a longer visit you may find the limited space challenging. The beds were average in comfort and the pillows were okay but not great.Check-in was straightforward. The front desk associate was polite, though initially distracted by his phone when we arrived so we had to get his attention. Other staff members we encountered were friendly and professional, though service overall at the hotel was not exceptional.Breakfast is available for $15 per person, which is a good value for the area. The offerings were decent but fairly standard. The service at the restaurant though was wonderful.This is a clean, well-located hotel that works very well for a short stay. I would return for a quick trip of a couple of days, primarily for the location and overall value. For a longer vacation, I would likely look for accommodations with more space and added comfort.   Disappointing...suspect service.

  Booked for three nights with breakfast two courses, supposed to get a welcome drink included.Told on arrival no breakfast included, had to go back with paper booking voucher to say that was the deal..Oh yeah OK it's included. Then first time sorry one course only. Next day had to prove again it was two courses.Never got offered or give the welcome drink.Rooms are small; lack basic coffee and tea making. Free low grade coffee is offered in the morning from an urn in paper cups only 7-11am down in lobby.You get a rusty uncomfortable beach chair no beach towels in room only at reception.Well over priced with suspect honesty with marketing and service.   Great location and lots of character

  My partner and I stayed here for two nights before we took a cruise around the Caribbean. The hotel is very historic and has been lovingly restored although it is relatively basic as it is an old hotel, there is a wonderful patio area in front of the hotel that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner we had breakfast here both mornings as it was a lovely atmosphere with great views, warm and sunny. The breakfast choice was good too and the service was very good. If you are a resident of the hotel, they have a special deal so ask for the . We found the hotel staff and serving staff very friendly and accommodating. It’s a very central location especially if you are only in Miami a few nights. There is no kettle or tea coffee making facilities in the room which being from the UK, we were surprised at but apparently this is relatively common in the USA.
