    Cruise Shuttle a complete disaster & breakfast debacle!

    We checked into this hotel the evening before our cruise only because we thought it would be easier since they claimed to have a free shuttle to the port which was 9 miles from there. We were sadly mistaken. My wife asked immediately to sign up for the shuttle and the very direct young woman behind the desk said only a 12:30pm spot was available and then claimed it usually takes 30 minutes to get to the cruise terminal since we had a check in of 1:30 on our ship. She said we could request a late checkout during breakfast hours in morning since shuttle was at 12:30. So we went to our room that was a handicap accessible room which was fine since it was at the end of hallway and seemed roomy. The room itself was ok but needed a good cleaning. The bed was comfortable with nice pillows and tv was good sized but screen was dark and not easy to see. The bathroom was large but the shower had no base so when showering water went everywhere on floor. My wife tried to get a soda out of vending machine but you needed exact change. She went downstairs to the little convenience area that had soda and asked the “friendly” woman behind the desk for change. She said she didn’t have any change but another girl finally went to the back office and got change turns out the soda was expired anyhow! Someone kept shoving pizza menus under the door all night long we had a good pile by morning. In morning we requested late checkout and went into breakfast area. The setup is terrible with a ton of people trying to get waffles in a tight spot and honestly the food was limited and mediocre at best. There was limited seating so people tried to go into pool area and rammed the door into someone sitting at a table and then an older man was banging on backdoor and yelling at the kitchen staff we assumed he was having some kind of medical episode. They propped open the door with the rat trap outside and it was a constant stream of hotel workers, police and then eventually EMT/fire department. We then went to our room to relax until our late checkout of 12 and suddenly at 11 there was banging on our door my wife explained that we had asked for a late checkout so they finally left. Before 12, we went downstairs to the lobby and it was absolutely packed with dozens of people inside and outside. My wife asked a different front desk young lady who finally finished her personal conversation with someone else, if the shuttle was still on time. She said no that the 11am shuttle hadn’t even showed up to pickup those people so she recommended to get a taxi or uber! She couldn’t even say how long it would be until the shuttle would be there so we were scrambling at this point! Thankfully a LIFT driver was there in 10 minutes and then we left. At first it said we would be there at 12:50 but it just kept getting longer because the traffic was an absolute SHOW! We would finally arrive to the ship at 2pm we have no idea how long or if the cruise shuttle ever delivered the people from the hotel. I would not recommend this hotel.

    Stayed here pre cruise with my wife. The shuttle from the airport was quick and easy once we figured out where to wait for it (across from door 15). The check in process was fast. Staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. The room was average. The beds were adequate, not bad, not good. The biggest issue in the room was the shower head. The water pressure in the tub spout and sink was strong, the shower head barely dribbled out anything. The water was also only warm, but scalding hot in the sink. Very odd.We asked for a late checkout as our cruise ship transport wasn't until 12:30, we were approved for 12:00 checkout. The transport to the cruise port was scheduled for 12:30 but we didn't leave the hotel until 1:00. The bus driver took the craziest route ever going from terminal A to G, back to A, then back towards G but turned to go back to A, then finally to V taking over an hour to get to our ship on Virgin Voyages.

    After we had a booking issue online with another hotel, Sade and Alexis were able to calm down the situation and help us not only book two rooms but also get us set up for the shuttle for our cruise the next day. They really went above and beyond to take care of us. Their ability to troubleshoot and lend a hand of made it an amazing experience!

    Beware of booking city tour from hotel

    I had a disappointing experience during my stay. At the hotel, I saw a pamphlet for a Miami tour and booked a bus and boat tour through the front desk, who confirmed everything with the tour operator. However, after being picked up, the tour staff told us we couldn’t do both tours. When I explained that it was confirmed by the hotel, their attitude became rude and unhelpful.I had already paid an $80 deposit at the front desk. When I returned to the hotel, I was told the manager would resolve the issue the next morning, but instead I was asked to email them. I never received any response. Overall, this felt very unprofessional and misleading. I would strongly advise others to avoid booking tours through the hotel, as prices are higher than online and the service was unreliable.

    From Bad to Worse: No Heat and Missing Property

    I had an extremely disappointing experience at this hotel and would not recommend staying here.First, the heating unit in our room did not work at all. My family and I were forced to sleep in a freezing cold room, which made for a very uncomfortable and miserable night. I even suffer from anemia, and being exposed to those conditions made me feel physically unwell and delirious. When I reached out to the front desk, I was told they were unable to switch our room because the hotel was overbooked—something that should not come at the expense of guest comfort.To make matters worse, after checking out, I realized I had accidentally left behind a pair of size 12 Jordans in the room. Given how unwell and disoriented I felt due to the cold conditions, it’s clear that contributed to me leaving them behind. I called the hotel within an hour of checkout to report it, only to be told by housekeeping that they “did not see them.” It’s incredibly hard to believe that a clearly visible pair of shoes just disappeared. It honestly feels like my property was taken and not handled honestly.Between the lack of basic accommodations, poor customer service, and the situation with my missing belongings, this was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve had. I would strongly caution others before booking here.
