Location

This hotel is located 1.5 km from Miami International Airport and within walking distance of the tourist area with its restaurants. Guests will find the University of Miami only some 8 min away by car and it is around a 10-minute drive to the Port of Miami, Dolphin Mall and Miami International Mall. South Beach and the Downtown area of Miami are both some 15 minutes’ drive and it is 25 min by car to Fort Lauderdale.

Facility

31 junior suites, 38 single rooms and 56 double rooms are located on 6 storeys and can be reached by lift. English- and French-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Amenities include a baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service, cash machine and drinks machine. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The hotel offers a number of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities.     I stayed at the Fairfield Marriott Inn & Suites on my recent trip to Miami. The location was close to the airport and they even have a shuttle service that will pick you up from the airport. We stayed here before our cruise. The rooms are very dated and need a refresh. We also found a roach in our room which is absolutely disgusting given they charge $400 a night. Stay somewhere else. When we alerted the front desk, nothing was done. When we let the manager know in an email, we were issued an apology. Only after contacting Marriott directly were we offered any kind of compensation in Bonvoy points.

    The hotel location is ok and the staff was nice, but sleeping here is terrible. Loud air conditioners, worn out pillows, and quite possibly the worst mattress I've ever slept on. I barely got any sleep. This hotel is in desperate need of refurbishment.     I excited ship with a terrible virus. I could not fly home on Friday so my husband booked Fairfield Inn and changed my flight to Saturday. Karen at the front desk (2/27/26) was so kind. She helped me get into a room early, offered me tea to take to my room and gave me an extended checkout the next day since my flight was at 4:00. She offered me takeout delivery menus and made sure I was well taken care of. Thank you Karen. Excellent employee who truly cares.     It was ok. We were given an upgrade as a Marriott member. The bed was sub par. The breakfast was the usual..some good, some bad. The staff was super.     To start, the hotel is very comfortable, great breakfast, parking underneath the building, quick shuttle to airport. That is where it ended for us. We stopped to check in and leave our luggage before we dropped our car at the airport. It was 2:50 p.m., check in is at 3:00 p.m. She had a list of people that had tried to check in and couldn't mine was added to that list (which we don't know why and it was never mentioned again) She said the system was down, but she typed in all our information for check in anyway ??? Ok, I get that, come back in an hour...She told us where the shuttle picks up and to call if we want to know when it was was arriving....bad information. So we dropped of the car and went out to the shuttle pick up areas and stood there as the shuttle drove right by....I called the hotel and she asked if I had called before...apparently you have to call when you get to the pickup so they STOP to pick you up. First time in all my travels I have ever had this happen. So then we waited another 30 minutes...fortunately by then our room was ready, however since we had prechecked earlier with all our information, we had to give it to her again... Needless to say their processes were horrible and so was the service. Were they nice, yes, was it a long long long mess of issues, yes. Come to find out the ONE person at the front desk was trying to check in all the people, that 'couldn't check in before' and she also was handling the Shuttle calls. So she had no help. Our Shuttle driver Miguel, who couldn't speak English, was less than kind. To top it off when we were leaving in the early morning, the person that finally walked out from behind the 'curtain' was rude. I know help is hard to find...but come on Marriott your members deserve better. Also, I had called the hotel a week before my arrival to get instructions on how to find the shuttle and the process...guess what while on the phone she answered one question then ignored me and talked to someone else that was there..without saying one second...then I waited 5 minutes and hung up!There are plenty other hotels in the area that provide shuttle service, check them out.
