    Serious Cleanliness & Sanitation Issues – Disappointing Response from Managemen

    I recently stayed at the Four Points by Sheraton Miami Airport from April 8–10, and unfortunately this was one of the most concerning hotel experiences I’ve had primarily due to serious cleanliness and sanitation issues.To start on a positive note, the front desk staff were professional and accommodating, which I appreciated. However, the condition of the room itself was unacceptable: • A strong sewage odor upon entering the room • Bedding that appeared not properly cleaned, including used tissue found in the bed • A dirty toilet, which I had to clean myself • A towel provided with visible hair, appearing used • Gnats/fruit flies present in the restaurant during dining • Non-functional WiFi, preventing me from working during my stayI was also recovering from dental surgery at the time, which made the situation even more difficult to manage.What is most disappointing is not just the condition of the room, but the response from management after the fact. Despite acknowledging that these issues fell below their standards, the hotel declined to provide a reasonable resolution beyond a minimal adjustment.At this point, I have escalated the matter to Marriott International Customer Care for further review.For a Marriott-branded property, basic cleanliness and room readiness should not be inconsistent or dependent on guest complaints after check-in.I would strongly encourage management to take a closer look at housekeeping and quality control processes to ensure this does not happen to future guests. The items you mentioned, including the bedding, bathroom condition, and odor concerns, fall below the standards we strive to uphold, and I understand how frustrating and uncomfortable this must have been, especially given that you were recovering from dental surgery during your stay. While I truly regret that this was your experience, I do want to note that when we interacted during your stay to assist with extending your reservation, these concerns were not brought to our attention at that time. Had we been made aware, we would have immediately taken steps to inspect the room, arrange a room move, or otherwise correct the issues to ensure your comfort. Not having the opportunity to address these matters during your stay limited our ability to resolve them in real time. It is disappointing to hear that after our email correspondence apologizing for your experience and extending compensation although we were never given the chance to make it right, there are even more issues that arose during your stay that you failed to mention the issue with fruit flies and lack of wifi connectivity. We do take feedback like yours seriously and have addressed these concerns with our housekeeping and engineering teams to prevent similar occurrences moving forward.

    My American Airlines flight was cancelled so they gave me a voucher to 4 Points Miami Sheraton. AA input the wrong date on the voucher which I didn’t realize until arriving at the hotel and they told me the room was reserved for the night before & they were currently fully booked & couldn’t accommodate me. After 36 hours of issues with American Airlines and a 5:40am flight the next day I was devastated. They allowed me to stay in the lobby while I attempted to contact AA about the airline’s mistake. While I was still on hold with the airline, Maria & Destin were able to find a cancellation room and they gave it to me. I was tired, frustrated, and just wasn’t sure what i was going to do but because of their kindness / compassion and desire to find a solution they literally saved the day for me. I am so very grateful to them. The room is lovely and I am so relieved to have a place to rest until my early morning flight. Destin & Maria, I cannot thank you enough for being problem solvers with big hearts! I highly recommend this hotel. It’s a convenient location to the Miami airport, it’s clean, and best of all - the staff that I’ve encountered (Maria & Destin) are amazing!!!!     Our first time trying a Four Points. It's about two miles from the airport. We had an excellent experience at this Four Points by Sheraton Miami Airport. Great bed and very pristine room. There is also an outdoor pool. Lindsey at check-in was so sweet, polite, and professional. There is a very quick and convenient airport shuttle (with very nice drivers) that runs on the half hour between 4AM-11PM, otherwise hourly. We ate at the restaurant downstairs ("Cascada") and the spectacular Nick waited the table. Friendly, nice, and so eager to please. He made our stay even better. Ask about the happy hour. There were also interestingly-named, local brews on tap.
