  If I could leave zero stars, I would. Pictures can be deceiving and listing details can be deceiving. We needed to stay one night and this Holiday Inn was convenient so we thought… it took 30 minutes to check in, we checked into the stinky room, they air conditioner was broken, maintenance was called, showed up 30 minutes later, waved his hand over the vent, found out that we were not lying. It actually was out and disappeared for another 20 minutes only to come back to let us know we had to change rooms. During that 20 minute wait we wanted to track down some ice misled on where the ice machine was. The room was dirty and the traffic outside was really loud. We thought we could just take it because it would be a temporary stay until we found the dirty sheets and covers. We went downstairs to request a refund and the staff told us she had to call management because she could not authorize a refund. It was just a poop show. It is unfortunate, but it is very much the truth. On the bright side, they did refund our money after showing a high level of frustration. You get what you pay for with this place! Very scary place!   We needed a place to stay near the airport for one night. The service was sufficient and friendly and the shuttle service from the airport was dependable. The rooms old and felt dirty. It did appear the linens were clean and the rooms were serviced, so I do not think this was a matter of the housekeeping staff. The carpet was gross and the bathroom looked like mildew has stained the tile and been caulked over. I would have paid more to stay somewhere else.   This property shouldn’t be called a Holiday Inn. I’m going to try to summarize my thoughts. Don’t stay here if you want to sleep. I’m on the 10th floor, in a room with a “balcony.” It is literally 2 ft wide, no chairs, nothing. The glass door does not actually shut all the way, allowing for extreme road noise. If you want to lock it, the gap becomes wider. It was unlocked when I checked in-so families, definitely double check this. I did not sleep well at all due to the extreme noise and I have my AC down to 60, and I’m still warm. The main issue is with the front desk. I needed a late check out due to work. I put it in my notes when I booked, called 2 days before check in. During check in, the front desk clerk told me to call the night manager at 11:15pm. I stayed up. He was rude, telling me to call in the morning, saying no late check out. I asked what would change in the morning if I called then, he responded nothing. I asked if there was a conference room or a private office that I could use to complete my virtual work meeting as I just needed a private space to complete it. He told me there was a conference room, but I would need to rent it to be able to utilize it… which makes no sense because I would really only be using the space as a quiet place for approximately one hour, utilizing no amenities, except for the electricity.The morning staff at the front desk also seem disinterested in their jobs. I needed to break a $20 for cash, so I asked if I could get cash. The front desk said that they didn’t handle any cash and redirected me to the restaurant. The restaurant redirected me to the front desk, to which then I respond that the front desk sent me here for you. The restaurant staff walked with me to the front desk, and told the front desk that they did not do anything with cash. The front desk then redirected me again to a gas station. Looking back, how does the front desk not realize that the restaurant does not handle any cash, and how does the restaurant not handle any cash?The only thing I liked about this day is the bed. The bed was very comfortable, but with the road noise, I couldn’t even enjoy sleeping in the comfortable bed.   Noisy hotel

  This is called an Airport hotel however, it’s not near the airport. Got in about midnight for a one night stay before a cruise. Check-in was fine but took a while to get to the hotel from the airport. The room was dingy and dated. Needs renovation for sure. Would have left and found another hotel if it was not so late. We stayed on the 10th floor but sounded like a construction site with heavy traffic. This could be the noisiest hotel I’ve ever stayed. Did not sleep at all. Stay away.   Holiday Inn Miami West Airport is Hialeah, about a 20-minute drive from the airport MIA. There is plenty of complimentary parking on the hotel grounds including a multistory car park and they operate a complimentary shuttle service from the airport. The location gives easy access to both downtown Miami and Fort Lauderdale as both are about a 30-minute drive away. There is also plenty of restaurants and shopping within a few minutes drive from the hotel. There is a nice and open lobby area, from which you also access the outdoor pool area with a decent size pool and plenty of seating. On the lobby level is also a good size gym as well as the restaurant and bar. The rooms are a good size that work both for business and leisure, however they could do with a refreshing as they are a little dated, having said it perfectly fine! A good hotel at a good location.
