    Avoid at All Costs

    Worst hotel experience I have experienced. The rooms were filthy. A strong smell of mold hits you in the face as soon as you open the door. Visible mold growing on the furniture and window sills. Water was dripping in the window all night. Carpets were wet. Bed clothes and our clothing were all damp and smelly by morning. Door to the room did not work properly. Hot tub controls do not work and are fastened to the wall with straps with sharp edges. See pictures. When I asked to file a complaint with the owner, the wife became belligerent and accusatory with me.     Our Halfway Rest Spot !

    We've been coming to this rest area ( Hotel ) for over 12 years now ! It's the half way spot between our families in San Antonio and Chicago ! It's about a 10 hour drive each day ! The pool and hot tube jets are perfect everytime for help healing and taking away the pain after the torture I've been putting my body through ! Their breakfast choices are tops ! ( Especially the huge pancake sausage patties and biscuits ! ) I always love to arrive around check-in and leave at checkout ! This LAST TRIP we couldn't get there until Midnight and they gave us a late checkout time around 1:30 pm and a 9:30 am breakfast in bed and movie , then hit the spa ! The best part is for me is that the Buffalo Run Casino is only 3 minutes away to go a try to double my Wad $ and then walk away !!SINCERELY , COACH T and Family , General Manager at Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Miami, responded to this review THANK YOU FOR STAYING WITH US.

    Things have gone downhill under the new management,

    This location has gone way downhill under the new ownership. In the past, there was a homey greeting upon arrival and the warmth continued from there. On our last two visits, a gruff gentleman with thick glasses at the checkin desk was openly hostile and unfriendly. He barked "How many pets do you have with you?..... It'll be $30 each per night..." I.e., It used to be zero......How can hotel claim to be "pet friendly when it want to charge NLT 50% of the room rate for each pet???Once we got to our room we found it uninviting including broken light covers over the bed and burned out bulbs and non-functioning outlets. The room clearly needed refreshing. I sahred these with the desk clerk and he replied that he would "tell maintenance". I bet!!!The breakfast offering was a shadow of the ones several years ago. I suppose they have reduced the offering to just barely meet Wydham's franchise requirements. When I went to check out I told the female clerk that I wanted to use a different card for the pet fee. SHe seemed to acknowledge my request but kept on typing, I extended the credit card in question towards her but she didn't take it. SOon I heard the printer running and she picked off my invoice and handed it to me. When I asked about using the alternative Credit card she looked at me quizzically and started typing again. SHe then shared that the charge had already been procssed on the old card. She fiddled around for another 5 minutes without success and I needed to leave. No apology from her for igoring my request. I have been happily staying at this location for >10 years but the new management's approach will make seek out another hotel.     The room was dated and dirty, the window sills had black mold, and the TV was not operational. I booked and paid for this room online in advance and did the online check in. Much to my surprise I was charged for the room again upon arrival and had to hunt for a phone number to call and get a refund. I wasn't even offered an apology, and did not receive a call back saying they had fixed the issue as promised.
