    Great experience

    rating24 May 2026

The hotel is a typical Hilton and aligned with the brand! The location was absolutely perfect for my conference at the Ernest N Morial convention center. It was central to all our events but not easily walkable to bourbon street if that’s your focus (not a far distance, but about a 30 min walk). It was right by the river walk, outlets and cafe de monde. Overall the hotel was a good stay, the staff were friendly and I had no issues. General Manager, Agency / Consultant at Hilton Garden Inn New Orleans Convention Center, responded to this review We are so grateful, MsKiesha, to hear you had a great experience with us! It is fantastic to know our location suited your convention plans so well, and that being near the river walk and local attractions made your visit more enjoyable. Our team truly values your kind mention about your stay feeling consistent with the Hilton brand and your positive interactions with everyone you met here.Thank you for choosing Hilton Garden Inn New Orleans Convention Center. We would be delighted to welcome you back on your next trip to the city!

Comfort allergy free stay and with exceptional staff

    rating13 May 2026

I arrived at the Hilton Garden Inn New Orleans at the end of one of the more grueling travel nights I've had. I have a severe anaphylactic allergy that requires specific pillow and mattress encasements. After 6 hours, five hotels, and a Hilton property that failed to honor a confirmed reservation, I walked through this door exhausted and ready to give up entirely.Ms. Beard, at the front desk, changed that. Her warmth wasn't performed. The tone, the body language, the genuine care she took walking me through the room and making sure my needs were actually met -- it was all real. You can train a skill. You cannot train that.By the time I settled in, I had gone from writing off the Hilton brand entirely to making it my first choice going forward. Learning that rooms with proper allergy encasements are available consistently across Hilton properties nationwide made that decision easy.Ms. Beard is a gem and a genuine asset to this property and this brand. If you're traveling with serious medical accommodation needs -- or simply want to be treated like your comfort matters -- this is your hotel. General Manager, Agency / Consultant at Hilton Garden Inn New Orleans Convention Center, responded to this review Joseph, reading your review truly brightened our day. We are so grateful you chose Hilton Garden Inn New Orleans Convention Center after such a challenging night, and to know that Ms. Beard made such a meaningful difference for you brings us immense pride. Our team always hopes to provide an environment where guests feel safe and at ease, especially when important medical accommodations are involved. We appreciate you highlighting Ms. Beard’s genuine care and the peace of mind provided by our allergy-friendly guest rooms. Your trust means a great deal to us, and we would be honored to welcome you again whenever your travels bring you back to New Orleans!

Terrible customer service they made me make a reservation while standing in the lobby the women at the desk were very rude and they charged my account twice and they refused to refund. I would NEVER use this hotel again.. worst experience I've ever had General Manager, Agency / Consultant at Hilton Garden Inn New Orleans Convention Center, responded to this review We are very sorry, April, that your visit left you feeling so disappointed. The service experience you described, along with the frustration regarding your reservation and billing, is truly not what our guests should encounter. Our Guest Relations team will look into what happened so we can address these concerns internally. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.

    Convention Hotel Stay

    rating15 Apr 2026

My husband and I stayed here because he was at a convention. This was one of two hotels offered in a block so we chose this one. I have to say this because I would not have willingly stayed here of all the places in New Orleans. But I will give the hotel it's due. We were able to get an early check in which was greatly appreciated. Valet staff were always helpful and friendly. I didn't get my Hilton Honors gift until later in the day when I went back to the front desk to ask for extra towels. I'm not one to get hung up on those acknowledgements though. I only mention it because I've read reviews where that really bothers people where they aren't thanked for being a member. Just know, they may not recognize it here. We had a king room and it was clean and the bed was comfortable. The door in front of our fridge was broken but it still closed so I guess that was good enough. We did have daily housekeeping which is a bit unusual nowadays so that was nice. I give the hotel a good rating but like I said if we weren't in town for a convention, I would go somewhere else. I'm also sure this is a hotel that a lot of cruisers pick. I would say it is a good option for that too. Now, to get into the nitty gritty. There are taxes galore charged onto your room. We stayed in the French Quarter for two nights before this and we got hit with way more individualized taxes at the convention center. Both places taxed our valet parking. This hotel was $47 per day for valet with in and out privileges. The Fulton St garage is right across the street and is cheaper but it doesn't allow in and out. There were city and state taxes charged on the valet for an additional $6.11. This compares to staying in the Quarter. So your valet will run ~ $53 per day. Now, get ready for all the taxes they add to the room. There is occupancy tax, city tax, state room rentals tax, state LA room rental, state exhibition hall tax, tourism assessment fee. These taxes and fees added up to an additional $44.58 per each night's stay. I don't know if these were different or additional because we booked through the block set aside for our convention but be prepared at check out for all of these taxes and fees to hit that you weren't planning on. And after all this I can't even remember what the incidentals charge was. About 99% of the time we never have incidentals so that hold always falls off and I never think about what I was quoted. If you need a convention or cruise hotel, this one is ok. That's just it- it's ok. General Manager, Agency / Consultant at Hilton Garden Inn New Orleans Convention Center, responded to this review Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful and thorough review, Walkermama. We appreciate you highlighting details like the early check-in, the helpful nature of our valet team, and the daily housekeeping service. It is also good to hear your room felt clean and comfortable during your visit, even though the door in front of your fridge needed attention—our engineering team will look into this.We understand that the experience around taxes and fees in New Orleans can be surprising, and it's true that they do add up quickly across the city. When it comes to parking, our hotel does offer valet service with in and out privileges, while self-park garages in the area operate differently, but we always want guests to have clear information. Your comments about honors recognition at check in are also important, and we want every guest to feel acknowledged, whether for loyalty or simply for choosing us.It means a lot that you found us a suitable option for conventions and cruise stays, even if the location was selected out of necessity this time. We hope that, should you return for another event or cruise, we have the chance to make your experience feel more than "just ok." Thank you again for sharing your perspective with us.

    Very poor and deceptive

    rating27 Feb 2026

Watch your bill is all I have to say, they overcharged me several times on my credit card. I booked for a certain price, then they charged me an additional $113.00 for parking (which was originally included in my reservation price of $ 326.72 (taxes included), then when I checked out instead of the $326.72 they charged me $441.83 ( which is 326.72 + 113 plus tax). I opened a case with Hilton rewards about them, and they said the hotel would contact me in 3 days regarding these charges, and nothing for weeks. I have emailed the msygi_gm@hilton.com with my case # to see why they have not credited my card back. DON"T STAY THERE, THEY RIP YOU OFF. General Manager, Agency / Consultant at Hilton Garden Inn New Orleans Convention Center, responded to this review Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, Tina. We are genuinely sorry your billing process was so frustrating and that your attempts to resolve it did not receive a prompt follow up from our team. The experience you described with your account and the lack of timely communication is not how we want anyone to feel after staying with us.Your feedback will be shared with our Guest Relations team for further review. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and hope we can earn back your trust in the future.
