    My friend and I stayed here 5 days and 4 nights. The room was clean. However, there was a very distinct odor that was lingering, like mold or mildew in the room - not sure if it was the carpet, curtains, etc. I smelled it as soon as I walked in the room and it reminded me of staying in someone’s camp or cabin. I used an entire can of travel Lysol to combat the odor, as I am extremely sensitive to smells. I sprayed every morning when I got up and every night before going to bed. The bathroom was so small and there was no room to maneuver. Also, there was no exhaust fan and it made it almost unbearable with heat when showering. We used the pool and it could have been cleaner.The staff was so friendly and attentive. The people were the best part of the trip.

    The staff was very friendly and always acknowledged us every time we passed in then most pleasant demeanor. They provided suggestions of activities to do. The room was clean and had a beautiful New Orleans feel. We made friends with our balcony neighbors. Just a great experience overall from the staff to fellow guests.     Charming and lovely

    Place d’Armes is a lovely, charming hotel in a perfect location in the Quarter. The courtyard is stunningly beautiful. The hotel is immaculately clean. The beds are comfortable and the showers are large. The decor is very nice and appropriate for the hotel. Some rooms are pretty small and dark (Hello 112!) but we were really only there at night so it was no big deal. The only complaint we had is the noise in the courtyard and from the room upstairs on a couple of nights. We were there during Jazz Fest, so I guess that’s to be expected. As other reviewers have noted, the staff is exceptional. We looked forward to seeing Quivonne, Patrice and Stewart each day. We plan to return.
