    Surprisingly nice stay for the value and brand reputation

    I booked a room expecting a room that felt cheap and was pleasantly surprised. This is the nicest Rodeway Inn I've ever stayed in and was more comfortable than some of the more expensive brands. My room has been recently renovated and was very clean and comfortable. The bed was perfect, the bathroom was pristine and even the linens were in good condition. The staff members I interacted with during my stay were friendly and showed pride in their property. I ended up extending my stay for a few days to get some additional rest. The outside of the facility looks a bit old but the building and it's design are pretty interesting. The rooms all face a central courtyard that provides a bit more quiet than facing the street or parking lot. All rooms are accessed from the courtyard and a room key is required to enter the courtyard gates.There is a fast food restaurant next door as well as a grocery store just a block away. There is a bus stop directly in front of the hotel for easy access from downtown New Orleans if you aren't traveling with a vehicle. Overall, I'm glad I found this Rodeway Inn since it's been the most comfortable room I've stayed at for this value in quite a while.

    not a place to stay if wanting to use the pool

    We were not happy with Rodeway Inn. Got up on a Saturday morning my niece was wanting to swim, signs say pool opens at 9, it was locked went to office they said i needed to speak to a manager he said they do not open the pool if there is a chance of rain, it was just an overcast day and about 85 degrees. So we thought we would try on Sunday morning, this day was sunny and about 90 degrees, again told pool will not be open cause of rain, it was not raining, then was told that if it rains they have to put chemicals in their pool and that costs money and then was told that there are tiles falling off in the pool. I began to say that having a pool and keeping up on the chemicals is part of having a business and keeping the maintenance up along with if the tile are falling off the pool they need to drain the pool and fix and take the pool off the website because they are misleading others on their pool for their Hotel. We then asked if we could get a refund for a day since we came to this hotel for the pool and was not able to use, which the site did not say anything about the pool being down for maintenance.

    We needed somewhere to crash for one night. It ended up being a few days more and Angelina and Cerena were very accommodating. They were so nice and helped us with any issue we needed. Angelina also does tours which, why not go to a local?

    The hotel clerk couldn't find our reservation. I gave her my reservation number and price of room. She still couldn't find it. She told us they are no longer Knights Inn. They are now Rodeway Inn. She got us a room and double taxed me. She didnt even try to refund or fix the matter. The room had a damp feeling and smelled of mold and mildew. The bedding had holes in it. The bathroom had cockroaches in it. The continental breakfast consisted of toast and rolls with no jelly, waffles that had an awful taste. Grit packages. Milk. Sunny D. Coffee. And fruit sitting in a slime substance. I see they are under some kind of construction but dont see that helping this place out.
