    This hotel used to be so nice. It’s so ran-down it’s crazy! Everything gets old and worn down at some point. The customer service is good but the rooms are terrible. I don’t think I’m coming back.

    Older hotel that has had some remodel. Rooms were clean. Stains on hallway carpet but otherwise clean. Desk staff courteous. Parking limited directly by hotel but more across street. Did not see people loitering and outside was clean. Breakfast offered more hot options than just waffles. Coffee machine down when we were there but there was a coffee maker in the room. Good economic, clean option short drive to downtown New Orleans. We would use again

    Hotel needs much work. We had a group of 12 and booked 5 rooms. The much-needed elevator was broken. Breakfast was sub standard compared to other choice hotel properties. Rooms were dirty, hole punched in one wall, curtain didn't cover edge of windows, tub was rusty and filthy. I wouldn't recommend anyone stay here.

    Initially I thought the room was OK for the cost. But once we got moved in our opinion changed.First, the carpeted hallway reeked of what I don't know, maybe a cleaning product, but it was nasty. We noticed the same order at another Choice Hotel the night before. Luckily the room was odor free. For clarification, Sleep Inn is one of the hotels in the Choice chain of hotel/motel properties.Also, the bathtub was stained and the tub paint(?) peeling. There were also mold stains on the tub caulking, and no stopper for the sink. The sleeping area ceiling and walls had water damage and significant peeling paint on one of the walls. The stuffed arm chair was very dirty. The pillows were very poor quality. The refrigerator noisy.All of those complaints aside, the young lady who checked us in, was personable and efficient, the bed was comfortable, other furnishing adequate, and the room quiet. We did not partake in the continental breakfast. This was our third stay in one week at a Choice Property. The other hotels were Quality Inns. All three hotels were sub par by our standards. We can not recommend the Sleep Inn and Suites in Metairie to friends or family members. Just too many cleanliness issues.
