  Classic Nola hotel

  First time staying at this hotel. Classic old school hotel and that Nola vibe.. court yards and pools are a nice addition to relax. Chose this hotel after my normal hotel was closed for renovations. This place was a great choice, it was close the all our normal activities and room rates were in line with our original hotel... staff was very receptive and assisted us with a young lady that needed medical attention out side the hotel.. definitely would stay on our next trip .   This place is awesome. No, it's not the penthouse in Paris with hot and cold running maids but what it is with its old world charm, comfortable bed (oh so comfy) and great location in the French Quarter with the nostalgic Old-World atmosphere - plus, plus the great and friendly staff who are so helpful and courteous, it's a place I will return to again and again. Price is excellent, there's a little store just across the street that even has liquor and a grill for warm food - try the gumbo it's an ancient family recipe - and even though parking is tight, the room was excellent value as well. The rest is as they say - history with all the multiple good meanings of the word. Ya gonna love it! I do.   The Hotel in good location and is a beautiful building but for us we felt it lacked something.We were disappointed that there was no bar in hotel as we like to have a chilled night cap.Reception staff really welcoming but it felt that other staff had been asked not to engage with guests unlike other hotels we'd stayed in the USA.Bedrooms not cleaned daily and bed had a massive dip in mattress, saying that we did sleep OK.
