    Great week at the TownePlace Suites by Marriott New Orleans Downtown/Canal StMy girlfriend and I stayed a week and I spent hours deciding on which Bonvoy Hotel to choose and glad I choose this one. The location is great, 1/2 mile walk to the French Quarter or take the trolley (get a cheap Jazzy Pass that covers all buses, street cars and the Algiers Ferry. We road all 6 street car lines and the ferry and St. Charles line was a highlight as was the ferry. There are 2 lines that stop 1 block from the hotel that goes down to the ferry and waterfront or to the cemeteries or the huge city park with museum. The rooms are nice and big as we got a king with kitchen with a great view and the breakfast was good. Latanya was amazing at the front desk our whole stay and even lent us a blender so I could make smoothies from buffet breakfast juice, fruit and yogurt. All the front desk staff and bartenders and door people and housekeeping were amazing and super friendly, especially the maintenance guys and front desk. Another bonus of this hotel is the rooftop 14th floor bar with amazing views of downtown, the French Quarter and river. You can even go up there outside when the bar is closed to hang out. I'd highly recommend this hotel since staff is great, rooms are way bigger than other Bonvoy hotels and the East side of the Tower has great close up views of downtown. If you need groceries Walgreens is 1/2 mile walk away right before Bourbon St starts with restaurants along the way. Closest restaurant is 1 block away and it's actually the best that's close. Pho Tau Bay Vietnamese, all the locals go there. If you're thinking of other Bonvoy hotels near in the same price point definitely at TownePlace Suites Canal Street.     I honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience. The room was ready when we arrived, and super clean! Staff was friendly and attentive. The fact that it's only considered a 2-star hotel makes no sense to me. The price was right, the breakfast was heady, and I will definitely be back.
