  Lovely location, easily accessible to Central Park, Madison Avenue shopping, broadway, etc. Excellent staff, one of the most quiet hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. Also has a great restaurant.   My take on three nights…the design: Ralph Lauren × Martha Stewart × Industrial Minimalism is a sophisticated hybrid that balances warm, heritage-rich American luxury with polished functionality and raw, modern urban edge.It creates spaces that feel timeless and collected yet clean, structured, and slightly edgy — Layered but edited luxury — cozy and inviting without being fussy, raw and architectural without being cold. The service: The service philosophy needs improvement as it mirrors the design — warm, precise, and quietly masterful where heritage luxury meets purposeful minimalism. It should celebrate American craftsmanship, timeless quality, and warm hospitality while embracing the raw honesty of industrial architecture. Guests should experience a home-away-from-home that feels collected over generations — never stuffy or overly ornate, but always intentional, comfortable, and quietly impressive. The restaurant: waiting to excel as it should deliver the same 5-star luxury that feels like staying in a beautifully maintained, multi-generational American home — elevated by industrial edge and executed with meticulous, warm service.   Great stay at the 1 Hotel Central Park

  The 1 Hotel Central Park is a great place to stay in New York. I have been here on four occasions over the last several years. This is an easy recommendation, and I would stay here again. The location is excellent, nearly perfect for midtown. I especially enjoy getting to go running in Central Park in the morning. The rooms are cozy, clean, and inviting. They are also well maintained. The day bed by the window is a cool idea. The main bed is amazing, one of the most comfortable I have enjoyed in a hotel. The biggest drawback is that the rooms are quite small. Yes, this is New York, but two people don’t fit that well with luggage in these rooms. There are bigger rooms at many hotels in New York in this price category. Also, the shower is a half glass wall situation and the floor gets wet after every shower. Why do hotels do this? The staff are great and very helpful, although I did encounter someone downright rude at the front desk during one of my stays. Thankfully it was an aberration. I also think the sustainability idea is nice in concept but I am not seeing a lot of evidence of it other than washing towels less often and using some reclaimed wood. The restaurant and bar are tasty but quite expensive. Think $27 for one slice of avocado toast plus $7 for a single poached egg. Even for New York, that was steep. I recommend the 1 Hotel and think it is an excellent choice for the city.   My home away from home

  I travel once or twice a year to NYC for last six years. I tried out several hotels over the years hoping to find the “1” that felt like a home away from home. The decor vibes are laid back California circa 1970. The food at Jams - their restaurant - is award winning and blows the other hotels I’ve stayed at out of the water. The location near Central Park is fantastic and safe. The most comfy beds/pillows. Earthy, stylish rooms where good looks meet sustainability made sleeping away from home a spa experience. But the best part was the staff. Period. They greet you warmly and really see you. Chester remembered my daughter and asked how she was doing. Flo came over to say hello and shake my hand, Max made check in quick and asked what he could do for me. Mia came over to say hello and we chatted. The concierge who I want to say was Lorenzo (?) couldn’t do enough to get me booked for the entertainment I needed. The restaurant wait staff was warm and efficient. I’ve not experienced this anywhere and would never expect such a big city as New York to feel like a small town within 1 Hotel. It’s my place. I’m staying…. at least till Monday.
