    Clean, Quiet, Comfy!

    I live nearby and we’ve been suffering with power outage issues in my building. I booked the hotel last minute for one night and I’m so glad I did. Everyone who works here couldn’t be nicer. I have bad allergies and the front desk made sure to give me a room that hadn’t had a pet in it for a long time. The AC worked great, the bed was comfy, everything was very clean. We had a little balcony, which was nice. The best part is that it was super quiet and great for sleeping. Plus it’s a quick walk to queensboro plaza. We also ate dinner and breakfast at the restaurant and everything was delicious. I will definitely recommend it to people visiting NYC.

    Spacious room with a beautiful view. I stayed one night in the Manhattan Skyline View room & one night in the Studio Suite. The former has the much better view while the latter has an extremely deep soaking tub that I took advantage of. Just a 7 min walk to the subway, which I felt super safe doing at night alone, and it was incredibly quiet and peaceful. Will stay again in the future! Shout-out to Melissa in the bar and David at the front desk for their friendly hospitality!

    Let’s start with the positives. The check in process was seamless and professional and the woman checking us in was personable and informative. Breakfast the next day at Beebe’s was excellent. Now, the negatives. We had dropped our bags in the room at 2:30 pm and headed quickly out. We had noticed the scent of marijuana in the hallway and in the room, but thought it might be coming from an adjacent balcony. When we returned to the room at 9pm, the scent was now over powering and we called down to request a move to another room. Thank goodness for the evening manger, David, who quickly found another room. He came up to deliver the new room keys and checked on the odor. Yep, overpowering and not pleasant! We moved to the new room. However, that next morning we discovered that there was no hair dryer. A call to the front desk and they said one would be delivered. 20 minutes later I went down to the front desk to see where the hairdryer was. They we were incredulous that it hadn’t been delivered and promised to send up one. 10 minutes later and no hair dryer. Tried to call the front desk. Busy. Busy. Busy. No hair dryer was delivered and we went to the front desk to check out. Ugh. We travel to LIC once a month and stay at various area hotels and this was not our first stay at The Boro, but it was our most disappointing. The little things matter when it comes to evaluating a hotel service. We hope this property can deliver a better experience in the future.
