  What’s everyone on about with this hotel? It’s up-to-date and more than satisfactory for the price. If you need a clean, well-lighted place to park your luggage and sleep, this is it. The desk clerk was quite pleasant.They do charge 30 bucks for taxes, etc. when you check in. I knew that because Hotels.com told me about when I booked. A very lively neighborhood is a bonus, and it’s just a couple of blocks from the legendary Dimes restaurant and Metrograph theatre.I’d give it five stars but then everyone would expect the Hyatt and be disappointed.

  The cost per night to stay in this accommodation does not reflect the value of service and quality that we received. The room was not cleaned properly, and there were stains on the bedsheet and the wall. The lounge was not anything like advertised, with terrible stench and empty vending machines. The female staff was not interested to handle guests, but the male staff was friendly and actually greeted guests.The only positive thing about Canal Loft is the proximity to Grand St Station, Broadway Station, and Canal St Station. Though be very careful in the surrounding area, and it is better not to wander late in this neighborhood.

  Terrible experience – unsafe and unclean

  I stayed here with my fiancé and we felt completely unsafe. There were police officers on the property, people screaming for hours, and constant disturbances throughout the night. The room itself was dirty and clearly not properly cleaned before our arrival. We ended up leaving early because we didn’t feel safe staying any longer. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. Avoid it.

  They CHEAT on price. They charge extra and do not admit their own price online!!!

  This hotel CHEATs on the price!!! DO NOT book here!!! I booked the hotel on TravelURO, and paid full amount covering everything. However, when arriving at the hotel, they asked to paid a called "service fee" (not resort fee). I asked why, they said the website does not show the correct amount. Even if I show them my receipt, they said they do not see the same amount on their side and insisted to charge me extra fees. They uses fake amount on website to lure people coming, and then charge extra fees! What a cheating hotel!!!
