  The room itself was adequately equipped and had everything necessary for a standard stay. Unfortunately, the handling of payments and the lack of transparency completely overshadowed the experience.The listing clearly stated a security deposit of USD 100. However, an amount of USD 331.68 appeared on the final invoice as a charge, with the indication that it was a deposit.At check-out on December 30, I was explicitly informed by the staff the refund had been processed on the day of check-out. Based on this information, I waited for the refund.After 15 days, I was told that:the USD 331.68 was the first night payment,a balance had been authorized at check-in,and that no refund was due.This explanation directly contradicts both the information provided at check-out and the documentation I received, which showed no clear breakdown or mention of a security deposit.Despite repeated requests, no verifiable proof of refund (such as an ARN code, required by banks to trace transactions) has been provided.The inconsistent communication and lack of clarity around financial charges make this property unreliable.I am willing to update this review should the matter be clearly explained and properly resolved.

  This hotel is one of the better values in midtown. The size of the room is above average for the price point. The kitchenette is a nice bonus. Good WiFi, helpful staff. The bed was comfortable. Convenient and relatively quiet location. There were complimentary snacks (muffins, cookies) and beverages (coffee, tea, hot chocolate, lemonade) in the lobby. Fitness room in basement - it’s rather small, but fine (complimentary bottled water available).   So glad we chose Candlewood Suites in NYC

  Check in was prompt and friendly. Refreshments were at the ready, the room was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The bed was also clean and comfortable. The shower had good pressure and was hot. The staff was accommodating.   Perfect Stay

  Ideal location. Hotel is clean, cosy (which is ideal in the cold winter months). Bed is comfy, shower is very powerful. Clean towels and bed made daily. Tv with quite a few channels, wi-fi was great. Free tea, coffee, hot chocolate, water & lemonade in reception. Stay fees approx £17 a night plus $100 refundable deposit to be paid on a credit card at check in. Check out isn’t until 12 noon. Would 100% recommend and stay again. We stayed in room 205, room view wasn’t great but we were there to shower & sleep so didn’t matter & was next to the stairs so didn’t need to use the lift. 7/11 is at the top of street less than a minute walk so great to grab snacks and drinks for the room. For someone who is fussy with hotel rooms for cleanliness I was very happy with our stay & room.   Major elevator problems, had to walk down stairs 5 times or wait forever for the one elevator. Problems with keys all weekend. Room had black mild in dresser. Room smell was musty. Desk staff couldn't care at all when discussing issues with them. Poor hotel, avoid.
