  Worst NYC Experience Left Me STRANDED on the Streets of NYC - NEVER BOOK THIS PLACE!

  Horrid experience. Booked through a third party site and went to the property and was told there was no availability and I had to call the third party to get a refund. No offer to assist in finding another place or to call the third party to work it out with them. Also no apology and no notice ahead of time via email or phone call saying it was booked. No grace, no humility, and no kindness and now I am sleeping on the streets of NYC. Absolutely terrible experience. And getting a refund will be nearly impossible so I will have to do a chargeback with my bank. Terrible all around.

  The only good thing about this place was the location and that was even sketchy at times. Bugs on the floors in the bathroom and walls in the “lobby”. Waited 15-20 minutes to check out. Told the guy at the counter when he finally did show up we’d been waiting and he had the nastiest attitude then accused me of leaving trash on the front desk. Told him there was a bug on the wall behind the sign and he didn’t care. The bathrooms were the nastiest I’ve ever seen. The room was way too warm at night. The mini fridge was hot when we got there and froze our drinks overnight. They charge a refundable fee for a towel and blanket (they only provide a sheet and pillow). The cost is absolutely not worth the stay. I will never recommend this place to anyone and will tell anyone to avoid it at all costs. They claim the elevator can hold 7 people but it only holds 3 uncomfortably.The photos are at .5 zoom with an iPhone. The advertised pictures make it look way nicer than it actually is.

  If I could leave 0 stars I would. My stay at Central Park West Hostel was so bad that I had to leave three hours after checking in, and I have been trying to contact the property for days with zero response. Nobody answers the phone, there is no email, and the complete lack of communication is unacceptable. I fully intend on pursuing a refund through every avenue available.The room looked nothing like the photos. There were bugs in the corner, the mattress and pillow were laughably thin, and the bedsheet provided had actual holes in it. The bathroom was disgusting. I opened the door and was hit with an overwhelming stench of smoke and weed, strong enough that I literally had to cover my face.Trying to sleep was impossible. There was a loud banging noise directly outside the window every 5–10 minutes. Every time I started to drift off, it happened again. By 3:30 AM I was distressed, exhausted, and forced to leave and book another accommodation last minute.This was the worst lodging experience I’ve ever had, and the fact that the property refuses to respond only makes it worse. I would strongly warn anyone considering staying here to look elsewhere. I will not be letting this go until my refund is addressed.

  Worst experience ever! It‘ a trap!

  Short:-Cockroaches everywhere- dirty-overbooked, so already used bed-no electricity-no warm water-no daylight-broken doorlock, chair, wallExtended:Gave one star, because minus stars are not possible. An absolute trap! Dont go there! I hope I was the last guest, this should be forbidden.I stayed 6 nights there for ~ 100$ per night. I checked in at 3 p.m. after meeting the first cockroaches in the lobby. When I came back at 11 p.m. another guy was laying in my bed, they overbooked. There was no electricity, so I had to charge my phone in the dirty, shared bathroom in the hallway. No daylight, because there was just a dark well behind the window. The „wall“ under the window was made out of wood which you could just take out. Uneven, sticky floor. Broken chair. No warm water for two days, took the shower icecold. Broken lock. Strange people in the lobby. Bed was like a hammock over a cross brace who pushed in the back. Every movement in the bed shook the under or upper roommate in the bunk bed awake. I had to ask twice for a towel and a blanket, for the cockroaches to walk over.To sum up a very ugly experience to forget! Don‘t know how I could stay so long. Thank you for nothing you exploiters!

  I booked this place as it was the cheapest in the city at the time, it’s definitely a dive. I am pretty sure there are people living in some of the rooms, this place could use a proper deep clean. Honestly, I love New York, I love renovation stuff and interior painting, the guy at the front desk was incredibly sweet though, so kind and helpful. Definitely the right fit for the job.I’d be willing to offer a trade for a room to re do all the paint and decorate all of the rooms and put some custom NYC art up in this place. It has a lot of potential, the fact that wifi is only on the first floor, could definitely be a problem that could be tackled especially that it is 2024.
