    The hotel served its purpose which was a room for one night. The positives are the location which is close to Times Square, the size of the room was good, hidden areas for the refrigerator and safe, good bed size, and quick check in and check out. By the contrary, grab and go breakfast was mentioned in my Booking.com reservation yet I did not see anything. The hotel is close to Times Square so it may be noisier for some people. The room (beds, bathroom, main areas) was clean but the wallpaper was dingy which took away from the positives of the room. The faucets in the sink and bathtub need to be repaired. They work but one has to finagle how to use correctly. One shouldn't have to do this. The room served its purpose however given the opportunity I would choose another hotel.

    Beautifully Historic, Close to Times Square, Clean and Great Staff

    Had to book in the city for a last-minute 2 day job & City Club Hotel was recommended by the company and I wasn't disappointed. Although I was working on the upper East side, its very close to the theatre district (Oh Mary!) and Times Square if that's your vibe and flanked by the fabled Algonquin and Iroquois Hotels. Billy and Jennifer were especially accommodating & friendly faces after a long day. The hotel itself is wonderfully historic and the rooms are done up super cute. A wonderful way to see the city yet have a quiet refuge. Highly recommend.

    Hotel was very nice my NYC standards . Lobby is small with quick check in . Room was quite spacious and remodeled with a window that would open . There was an excellent diner a couple of steps away and a 5 minute walk to Times Square……10-15 minute walk to Central Park . The continental breakfast could be expanded . It is in a nice space in the connected restaurant next door . It consisted of coffee , tea , juice , an orange and baked goods . One day they had yogurt . Bananas and dry cereal as an addition would have been nice . Other than that , I’d stay there again .

    Location - excellentRooms are very tired, in desperate need of redecoration and repair. Plug sockets hanging from the wall for example. Noise Level - A/C was spectacularly noisy. Cleanliness - Cockroachtastic I kid you not.Common areas - the business lounge was dirty, poorly appointed.Breakfast - stale pastries, paper plates and a miserable lady who sat in the corner ignoring guests and eating a packet of crisps.Staff in the hotel were friendly but not particularly attentive. For example - we arrived early and I was told the room was currently being cleaned and would be ready soon. We went to lunch returned and it wasn't ready, We were told it was nearly ready again, 45 min later it was ready which was the actual check in time. Lesson - manage customer expectations better.Lifts - noisy, slow, dirty.Overall. The location and price are good but apart from that a really really poor experience.

    Hidden Gem in NYC

    I was so pleasantly surprised by the City Club Hotel. Their dates were so reasonable and I was hesitant that I was paying for location and nothing much more. I’m glad I took the chance. All of the staff is wonderful and friendly. In particular Robenna and Billy were so helpful and went out of their way to make sure I had a great stay. (Note to management: give them a raise!) The building is old and although parts are shabby (some peeling wallpaper, cracked paint) it has wonderful bones. And everything was very clean. The first room I was in was spacious and had interesting details. I asked for a throw pillow to be replaced because it smelled like smoke. Instead they upgraded me to a gorgeous bilevel suite. I was told that they were renovating. I’m hoping not too much because I don’t want the price to go way up!!!
