  First off, nothing matched description and pictures on the internet. The place is old with a rather creepy feeling. Rooms very small. No lights except for a hall light for entire room. (No bedside lamps). No table. Phone didn’t work. Clock didn’t work. Window was filthy and view was of a dump ground. Complimentary breakfast was a joke.

  I have stayed in hotels across many countries and have to say this is my worse yet. We booked this due to our holiday maker cancelling at short notice. So we didnt have a choice but please dont make this mistake. The rooms are poor and feel very small and dirty, breakfast room consisted of staff eating in same room, stacked chairs in corner and poor selection. Few of the cleaners were rude and on a daily routine left the trolley in the passage. Constantly smelt of Hash - soon as you got in the lift and throughout the floors. Door lock on room was faulty and will be honest this hotel spoilt our holiday. Visiting new york we wanted to get out head down after long days walking but I dreaded going back each night. Carpet was dirty, bedding poor - mattress also small and springy - One positive is they let us check out later but other than that avoid.

  I've been staying at this hotel every week for well over a month. I think it's worth the price. They contact you in advance to see when you are planning on checking in to ensure your room os ready. Comfortable beds, reasonably clean and not that noisy.My only complaint is there is no fitness center. However, some of the rooms are big enough where you can do some kind of workout in the space provided. Decent breakfast in the morning and coffee is served almost all day (the don't re-fill the coffee maker after a certain hour; usually around 8pm I'm guessing).They have smoking rooms! The manager/owner is a stickler for disruption. I've seen the hotel staff address noise and disruption issues appropriately. A nice change even when compared to the lukes of the Hilton or Marriott. They are also very responsive to your requests.Sure, you might find a burn on your bedding and it's not 100% quiet. But come on. This is a reasonably priced hotel in NYC that offers smoking rooms. If little stuff is going to bug you, then keep scrolling. Otherwise, this is your place, especially if you are a smoker.   Way too expenive for the quality. Free parking, but very few parking space. The bed was so old there was no suport left in those springs. there was a strong chimical smell in the room. We did felt safe in our room.
