Great Hotel for Weekend with Family

    rating18 Jan 2026

I just returned home from a weekend at this Hampton Inn in Yonkers. It was a trip to visit Family and thanks to the Staff working there it was a very successful trip. Prior to my booking my room here I called and spoke to Jenny and she was very helpful in explaining the rooms to me. I wanted a spacious room in case my husband’s grandson decided to sleep over which he did. I booked the room and the day before I arrived I spoke to Jenny and requested an upgrade to their largest room, the King Studio Suite and she put my request on the reservation and told me to call the next day. I called the day of my arrival and Zandorra gave me the upgrade. The room was amazing and perfect to have our family visit. I checked in and Travis was so helpful and pleasant. I got to meet all three throughout our 3 night stay there and they were always polite and friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel. It's a NO for me.

    rating06 Jan 2026

I travel to the NYC-area about 3x per year for leisure. Have stayed in several Hilton properties on the city outskirts for years - this one was easily the most disappointing.Check-in via the Hilton app did not fully work. I still needed to "visit the front desk" to "provide ID" which turned out to be the actual check-in process, not just a verification of ID. Either offer the convenience of app check-in or don't. I did message the hotel on the app chat while I was en route, questioning why my app check-in couldn't be completed, but never received a response during my stay - or ever.Hotel does not look or feel "brand new." It feels generic and typical with very limited added touches. Exterior lighting, especially at the turn-in for the parking lot is hugely lacking. I would not feel safe alone in the parking lot.The hotel shuttle has not operated since COVID times - so be prepared to pay for an Uber/Lyft if traveling to the train station from the hotel (<$20 one way for the cheapest option/non peak time). The Tuckahoe station does not have parking and the station itself is eerie at night. I would not utilize this station again if traveling after dark. There is nowhere safe or secure to wait for your Uber/Lyft to bring you back to your hotel. Hotel walls are paper thin. Sleeping was difficult because I could hear EVERYTHING in the rooms around me. I'm not talking about yelling or loud noises -- a simple cough, clearly knowing what people were watching on their TVs, the unlocking of room doors...everything. A nearby room had their fire detector beeping 24/7 for the length of my stay. We talked to the family in the room who said the hotel tried to "fix" the issue on the first night by simply removing the battery for the night (safety hazard??). The hotel "engineer" did not speak English so he didn't seem to understand the issue. Front desk claimed to not have batteries. My biggest gripe was breakfast. Yes, some of us do choose Hampton because of breakfast convenience so I feel this is an important aspect to mention. Holy MOLY... the workers in that nook are mean. I'm sorry, I know the job is not glamorous but these women visibly do not want to be there and despise the hotel guests. I attempted breakfast twice, both times were at LEAST an hour prior to breakfast's end time (which doesn't matter because they close the doors early anyway) and both times were horrible. The first day, the oatmeal, hardboiled eggs, toast and regular coffee were all empty - to the point you could tell guests had been SCRAPING the oatmeal kettle. Surely, with an hour left, these would be replenished? Nope. I settled for cold eggs and the last box of Raisin Bran - and got the last splash of milk left. A kitchen worker stood guard at the "hot food" (eggs) at all times -- at first I thought it was to help in some way, but soon realized this was her way of ensuring people did not take too much. Literally rationing our food with her glaring gaze. The next day I succumbed to the lack of food again and decided to try and make a waffle. The batter container for both flavors was empty. (At this point I feel like this has to be a joke!) When asked to refill the container, the kitchen worker came out with a pitcher of batter (enough for one waffle) and did not refill the container. A woman next to me was having trouble with her waffle sticking to the machine (this kept happening for everyone I saw). I KNOW that Hamptons usually provide non-stick spray alongside the machine. I inquired about the spray and the kitchen worker claimed to not know what I was talking about. I pointed to the pile of burnt/unusable waffles building up alongside the machine -- proof that everyone was just discarding their waffles. She finally went into the kitchen and came out two seconds later magically holding the spray -- HOWEVER she would not allow ANYONE to touch it and insisted she spray the machines herself! Literally gatekeeping the stupid $1.50 spray. By the time my waffle was done, the additional food options were wiped out once again. No yogurt, one cereal, no eggs, etc. I have never heard so many guests upset/complaining. When the kitchen worker shut the doors early, people were knocking trying to get in, as breakfast time was still in session according to their timeframe, which I verified at the front desk. Aside from all that, there was NOWHERE to sit for breakfast. They have 2-3 tables and a couple random decor chairs not conducive for eating a waffle on. Trash was overflowing in the one tiny receptacle. It was like they wanted to say they offer breakfast, but don't actually want people to come. There are so many more convenient and similar price-point hotels in the area and surrounding NYC... do not settle for a stay where people make you feel like an inconvenience to them! These are easy fixes though, and I hope this property focuses a bit more on their customer service approaches. I will not stay here again

    rating29 Dec 2025

We checked in on Christmas Day for a two-night stay. We arrived at 1:35 p.m. and asked about early check-in. We were told that our room was ready, but that we would have to pay an early check-in fee. If we waited 25 minutes, there would be no fee.I stay at many hotels each year and have never encountered this practice. I declined purely on principle and left. While the hotel itself is nice, this felt like a money grab and demonstrated a lack of customer-friendly service. In addition, there was a sign stating that the pool would be closed for the entire Christmas stay. I later got a text asking how my stay was. I asked about this policy and was told that this is not a Hilton or Hampton policy, but rather a policy of the individual property.

    Nice stay in Yonkers

    rating09 Dec 2025

As a Hilton Honors Diamond member I enjoy staying at different properties across the Hilton portfolio when I visit a particular area. This visit to the Westchester County area I decided to choose this hotel. I travel extensively by train. Although this hotel is in Yonkers, it is not near downtown Yonkers or its train station. I found it easier to take the Harlem Line to Tuckahoe, where I used Uber car to this hotel. The building is set back from the main road, which keeps much of the outside noise level down. The hotel was in decent shape, bright and inviting. Staff was friendly. I had checked in via the app the day before arrival and chose my room, so it was easy to access by Digital Key.The room was ample sided for my belongings. No issues with WiFi, TV, nor climate control. Bathroom had plenty space to put down toiletries, and no shortage of hot water. In the morning, breakfast was what one would expect from a Hampton Inn, with a diverse choice of quick food like eggs or breakfast meats. This place does come recommended if considering places in the area.
