    Horrible service

    rating25 Mar 2026

2nd worst stay as a gold member! Breakfast closed by 9:10 am. Wouldn't provide us an extra office chair to use as we're both working here all week. Vented to us that someone stole a chair out of the lobby. Housekeeping every other day is unacceptable when you're a gold member. Anything needed (paper towel, toilet paper, towels, etc) made us get ourselves. Complimentary water not provided. General Manager, Owner at Home2 Suites By Hilton Wayne, responded to this review Dear A22WEandreah,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and for being a valued guest. Normally, our staff does an excellent job of responding to our guests' needs; however, in your case, that did not happen. We appreciate your comments and will use them to improve the consistency of our service. We would be delighted to welcome you back and provide you with a more favorable experience. Thank you for staying with us.Sincerely,Meagan GundryGeneral Manager

    Perfect Hotel

    rating26 Jul 2025

Very clean room with excellent accommodations. I traveled with my family of 4 adult people and the room was large and the pullout comfortable. I found the full sized table (under the desk), full refrigerator and curtain room divider so helpful. Staff was friendly, and the breakfast had a good variety of food so that we were full for the morning travels. There was a large eating area with plenty of eating room. Parking ample. Gym very nice. General Manager, Owner at Home2 Suites By Hilton Wayne, responded to this review Dear lisamB864ED,We truly appreciate your kind review and recommendation of Home2 Suites! Thank you for choosing our hotel during your visit to Wayne and for sharing your positive experience with others. We warmly invite you to return soon—there’s always a comfortable stay waiting for you!Best,Kevin GiblinGeneral Manager

Here’s why I’ll never return to this location

    rating10 Feb 2025

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my disappointment and concern regarding an incident I witnessed at your hotel on the evening of February 8, 2025. My husband and I returned to the hotel that evening during a major snowstorm and were alarmed to find police officers on the premises.Due to the dangerous road conditions, we had asked a friend to drop us off at the hotel and to wait with us in the lobby until the snow subsided. While waiting, we were compelled to observe a police investigation unfold, which raised serious concerns about the situation at hand.Through conversations with your staff, including the manager, I learned that the police were called in response to multiple noise complaints from guests on the third floor, specifically targeting two rooms. It was conveyed that your manager, Brian, made the decision to evict one of the rooms after a single warning, without conducting a thorough investigation to ascertain the validity of the complaints.I found it particularly troubling that, despite the police and hotel staff urging him to reconsider, Brian insisted that the guests vacate the premises due to feeling threatened. The police ultimately left without removing the guests, which speaks volumes about the perceived severity of the situation. One of the guests from the targeted room expressed her frustration to me, stating that she had requested Brian to investigate the noise levels further before taking such drastic action, but he declined. Given that quiet hours were not in effect when we arrived, the decision to call the police and forcibly remove guests during a snowstorm is concerning, to say the least. Moreover, I couldn’t help but notice a troubling pattern in how the situation was handled. Brian's decision appeared to disproportionately target a group of young women of color, raising questions of discrimination. His assertion that he felt threatened aligns disturbingly with harmful stereotypes, which is profoundly disappointing to witness as a guest in your establishment. It was heartbreaking to hear a guest express her fear of being labeled the "angry black woman" for voicing her disappointment. The entire experience left me feeling uneasy, and I spent the night concerned for the safety of those young women. On a positive note, I would like to commend the professionalism of the young lady at the front desk during our check-in; her demeanor reflected the values of courtesy and respect that all guests should experience. However, the actions of your manager overshadowed this positive interaction.I firmly believe that all customers deserve to be treated with equality and fairness, regardless of their background. Everyone should have the right to feel safe and respected in a hotel environment, free from prejudice and preconceived notions.I hope you will take this matter seriously and consider reviewing your policies and training regarding conflict resolution and guest treatment to prevent such incidents in the future. Thank you for your attention to this important issue.

Great Location to work or play....and good management.

    rating27 Jan 2025

My daughter goes to Montclair University. I went on this trip to spend time with her, but to also work virtually. We went to NYC & SoJO in Edgewater. It is 7 minutes to Montclair, so any parents looking for a convenient hotel...this one is great. It was very clean and the ammenities are great.I had a room with two Queen beds ...it also had a microwave, sink, dishwasher and regular fridge. There were also plates and mugs. I believe all of the rooms include these items, but not sure. The price was in range and very affordable. More value for the buck then the last two hotels I stayed in this area. The front desk staff was friendly and inviting. I got in at midnight my first night and was greeted in a very welcoming manner. The complimentary breakfast was awesome..It had a perfect amount of hot and cold selections. Coffee/Tea available 24 hrs.The halls were quiet and I was able to get my work done.It is worth spending the extra $5 for faster internet if you do streaming/virtual meeting type of workParking/gym/pool were great. There is no vending machines, but a small "store" at front desk.I did have a small issue with a billing problem. However, I spoke to Brian, the general manager. He took the time to not only listen to me...but, hear me. There is a difference. He was extremely professional, yet human at the same time. I felt appreciated as a guest.I strongly reccomend for work...or the area...or to visit your "kid" at Montclair.

    Worst soundproof hotel

    rating18 Jan 2025

I had a very disappointing experience during my stay at this hotel. The guests in the room next door were extremely loud, yelling and making noise until almost 1 a.m. The walls were so poorly soundproofed that I could hear every single word they said.I decided to call the front desk to ask for assistance, but to my surprise, no one picked up the phone despite calling repeatedly for over ten minutes. For such a large and well-known hotel, this level of service is absolutely unacceptable. This experience has completely tarnished Hilton’s reputation for me. I will think twice before booking with them again.
