Not designed for anyone over 35.

    rating22 May 2026

First time in NYC. Hotel is in a great location. Friendly staff and great drinks. Lovley rooftop bar. The hotel itself however is not designed for anyone over 35. Dark halls and low to the floor beds makes navigating the place difficult. Everything is placed in the room in the most difficult to access areas. Like the hotel phone on the wall next to the bed that u have to crawl to get to. The lamps in the rooms all have different ways to turn them on so its a game of how do I get this to work just to get lighting on and off. No towel racks near the shower and the shower is see thru from the bed area.its all very cool to look at but not functional to stay in. Makes for great pictures but you risk your life trying to get up and use the bathroom during the night. I would recommend for the younger crowd but not for anyone over 35.

    Horrible; Avoid AT ALL COSTS

    rating18 May 2026

Hotel Alameda looked promising, but the experience dealing with their staff and policies was unbelievably frustrating.Their cancellation policy is vague, confusing, and seemingly designed to prevent guests from understanding what they’re actually agreeing to. I tried repeatedly to get a straight answer about cancellation terms and refund eligibility, and it was nearly impossible to get anyone competent on the phone. Calls went unanswered, messages weren’t returned, and when I finally did reach someone, I got conflicting information every single time. For a hotel charging premium New York prices, the customer service was shockingly bad. Transparency should be the bare minimum in hospitality, especially when guests are making expensive travel decisions. Instead, Hotel Alameda created an experience that felt evasive, disorganized, and completely indifferent to customer concerns.A reputable hotel makes policies clear and treats guests with professionalism. Hotel Alameda did neither. If you value honest communication and responsive service, book elsewhere.

    Terrible!

    rating09 May 2026

Terrible, terrible service. First, we asked for service to fix lights that were not working. We were told, "no problem"..but no one came! W e asked for a quite room. We were told this would not be a problem. The noise/dance music was SO loud, we could havre been dancing. We called (i) the service desk repeatedly and then, (ii) the outline "landline"... and NO ONE answered. Terrible! book at your own risk. Jon C 5/10/2026

    Do not stay here!!

    rating08 May 2026

Edited to warn: They also charged me $1,149.95 inexplicably and when I inquired why, I got no response. I have had to move the matter to the police & better business bureau. DO NOT STAY HERE.Original review: I can say, unequivocally, that you should never stay at this hotel. I booked the loft, Suite, AND deluxe room for me and my party in June 2025--for a trip in May 2026. I reached out a week before arrival to ask to switch the suite and loft reservations. Instead of replying, they canceled the Loft and rebooked to someone else. So, first clue is that a reservation at this hotel, even one made it advance, does not matter. It also doesn't matter if you are bringing in multiple customers. Upon learning this at check-in, I requested to speak to the manager, who looked me in the eyes after reviewing my numerous communications with the hotel, and said "what do you expect me to do?" I asked to honor MY reservation from a year ago and he let me know he wouldn't and that there was nothing else to do or say. I have never been treated like this at a hotel. If you want to be sure your trip starts off poorly and continues that way... this is the place. Aside from that, the bed caused intense back pain, anytime I had a question for the front desk they were rude, and I am usually happy to pay a resort fee, but at this hotel, it literally provides nothing. Just another money grab because this place is so horrible they wouldn't be able to stay in business without charging fake fees. Stay away. There are tons of boutique hotels that actually care about customer service

Terrible Experience! Way Overpriced! Poor Quality

    rating24 Apr 2026

I stayed at Hotel Alameda for two nights. Thursday and Friday, April 23-25, checked out today, Saturday. My room rate was $629.00 for each night. I booked this in November and did not see lower prices listed for those dates which I reserved last November. I was expecting excellence and luxury, a splurge for my retirement. Not quite! The Hotel offered little to no complimentary amenities. The room was very basic. The rooftop bar was closed for my first night for a private party so there was no access my first evening. I saw a mouse or a rat early in the morning in the hotel lobby. When I told the hotel clerk, he said, “yeah, it’s Manhattan”.I did write an email to hotel management about the above incident and my dissatisfaction with the hotel services, that I was paying $629. Plus taxes and fees for each night. The hotel took off 10 percent of my first night’s stay since there was no rooftop access. I thought this was minimal at best. In addition on Friday afternoon I came back to my hotel room to find it open. The lock was resting against the door. There was no cleaning staff still on floor but apparently they had forgotten to close and lock my door. Good thing I hadn’t left any valuables in the room. The hotel staff and management offered no apologies. The unapologetic manager did take off $70.00 dollars from the resort fees. They took a total $180 off my original bill. Minimal. This was a very stressful, unsatisfying stay. For the price it was a complete rip off. I have stayed in other hotels in New York for less money that have offered far superior experiences. I would not recommend staying here.
