Location

This luxurious hotel is conveniently located at the heart of Manhattan on 42nd Street, only a stone's throw from the UN building and the closest links to the public transport network. Various shopping facilities, restaurants and bars can all be found in the immediate vicinity. The closest nightclub is around 1 km away. Grand Central Station and the Chrysler Building are both located nearby.

Facility

The hotel was built in 1920. The hotel has 1347 rooms, which are located on 34 storeys and are reachable by lift. English-speaking staff at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service, cash machine and drinks machine. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. Rooms

    We upgraded to a suite to get an early checkin. I was completely underwhelmed but the hotel staff, no one seemed to want to be there. The hotel is older so suite was nothing special, not a problem. The room had no shower caps, so called down and waited 30 min. so I could shower. After showing, the room's lighted mirror in bathroom was broken so I called again. I could not wait. Bath sink was clogged and when engineer came up, the drain stop was clogged with hair and debris, not pleasant. Little things, but so disappointing. Thankfully, we only stayed one night.

    Very good location and nice and clean. Right beside grand central station and only a 12-15 mins from times square. Would recommend.     Not the best, especially for young families

    This was a disappointing stay for a young family, with kids 6 and 4, and our first trip to NYC. The staff was doing the basics in terms of making us feel welcome, and there it was clear they weren't keen to meet the kids where they were - with a lot of excitement about being in one of the best cities in the world! I wouldn't stay here again as there are many hotels in NYC that would cater a lot better to a family spending time in the Big Apple.     A nice, well located hotel with spacious rooms and well kept with a good ambience. Rude at check in but they put that right which was good. Bill wrong at check out so had to queue for 15 minutes as reception is not well staffed (presumably because you can express check out if your bill is correct). Breakfast overpriced but lounge very good.
