    The exterior and grounds of the Hyatt are top notch. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The interior of the hotel needs work.Sitting high in the midst of central LI, from the backside rooms you get a nice view of the island below. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and no complaints about their quality.The interior and halls are aging and need a full revamp. Didn't eat in the restaurant but it looked like it was in a conference room as opposed to a dining setting. There is a bar on the lobby level. The elevators are terrible. Slow, old and you wait a bit. So much so that the hotel opens up the service elevators for guests, which is not a great experience. Great perk is an open coffee setup on the conference level with complimentary coffees, teas and includes flavored syrups and variety of milks. Service is good.With the lack of great options in the area, would probably stay again but hope they give an upgrade to the facility.

    The elevators were out of service on both Monday and Tuesday, and guests were not adequately informed. I was traveling with my mother, who has a serious knee condition and cannot safely climb multiple flights of stairs. Being assigned to the 9th floor while the elevators were unavailable created a significant hardship for us. It is now close to checkout time and the elevators are still not working, making it difficult for us to leave with our luggage. Throughout this situation, there has been very little communication regarding the outage or any assistance offered to affected guests. In addition, the phone in my room did not work, and the hallway phone was also out of service. I had to seek assistance from a housekeeper, Ada, who informed me that the elevators were broken. I also found a roach in my room, which was unacceptable, and Channel 15 (HLN) on the television had no audio during my stay. Given the combination of the elevator outage, accessibility concerns for my mother, broken telephones, pest issue, television problems, and lack of communication, I do not feel that the accommodations I paid for were provided.

    It’s turning into a run down hotel. Maybe my 5th stay here over the past two years. It gets worse every time. The elevators don’t really work. You could be waiting 10 mins or more. I’m actually writing this as I wait. The internet doesn’t work in the rooms. I called front desk twice. Both times they stated “engineering will reboot the router”. Nada. We are talking speeds of 0.21. Like it says connected but you can’t actually do nothing. Not even open a web browser. I’m just getting more and more frustrated waiting for the elevator and then having to go offsite to use Internet. Not a good look for someone that comes in for client meetings and needs to prepare. I’ve currently been waiting in the 9th floor elevator for 14 mins so far. To go down to try to get a coffee. This place sucks.

    The employees were pleasant throughout our stay. The room was large and very clean. There is a nice lounge area to enjoy food and drinks.

    Desperate need for renovation. The hotel is falling apart and due to location and limited competition, it seems Hyatt is not renovating. Old worn rooms and common areas, only one elevator seems to be working for years now. Staff is nice but the premises are not good.
