    Nearly perfect stay, again!

    rating31 May 2026

This review is updated for staying here again. It is our favorite hotel in NYC because of how easy it is to get on any subway line within a few minutes walk.Pros:Great location, any subway you need is within a blockEntrance from 34th OR 35th, this works great with subway travel. Will bring luggage to your room if you're not there when room is readyGreat sized rooms (we had an upgrade I think?)Good shower pressureBed was comfortableRoom is cold and stays cold (apparently hard to find in NYC)Housekeeping great, made the bed with the pillows we brought some days!Window opens in room!Free breakfast and snacks in lounge for Marriott EliteCons:Was told there was no way to warm up leftovers in hotel, but has a fridge so kinda weird no way to heatShower temperature takes some time to warm upElevator has long waits, plan a cushion of 15 minutesDespite getting on the elevator first to go up multiple times, it was normal for it to bounce downstairs, pick guests and staff (from the staff floor) and drop them off before us. This was frustrating.Front desk forgot about us completely and we had to physically go to the desk an hour after check-in time to get a key Thomas W, at Renaissance New York Midtown Hotel, responded to this review Dear AC,Thank you for taking the time to provide such detailed feedback about your stay. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed our central location, spacious accommodations, comfortable bedding, strong shower pressure, cool room temperature, and the service provided by our housekeeping team. We're also pleased that you were able to take advantage of the M Club lounge benefits during your visit. At the same time, we sincerely apologize for the inconveniences you experienced. We understand your frustration regarding the delay in receiving your room key after check-in time, and we regret that our team failed to follow through on communicating when your room was ready. This is certainly not the level of service we strive to provide. We also appreciate your comments regarding the elevator wait times, elevator routing, shower temperature, and the lack of an available option to heat leftovers. Guest feedback like yours helps us identify opportunities to improve both our services and overall guest experience.Thank you again for sharing your observations. We are grateful for both the positive and constructive feedback, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for an even better stay in the future.

    No complaints

Room seemed recently renovated, big by NY standards, quiet. All good. Would stay there again if the neighborhood made sense (and it’s super close to Penn Station). Great Midtown Option

    rating10 Apr 2026

5 stars for the view, location, and staff! We splurged on a skyline view (worth every penny) and ended up on the 35th floor (which was amazing). Super convenient for MSG and close to major attractions like Empire State Building. Staff was friendly and especially kind to my 10-year-old.4 stars for the bathroom and storage. The bathroom setup offers very little privacy—sliding doors, glass partitions, and no fan mean any visit becomes a shared experience (lol). It worked fine for our family, but if you’re traveling with someone you’re less comfortable with…just know you’ll be very well acquainted by the end of the trip. Storage was also a bit tight for a family of three. With only a few open shelves and a small closet, we ended up living out of our suitcases (thank goodness for packing cubes). One last downside: we weren’t notified in advance that the club lounge was closed for construction. They did offer alternative options for breakfast and afternoon snacks, but it would’ve been nice to know ahead of time.Overall, the location, views, and vibe more than made up for these drawbacks. It’s NYC and rooms are small, and that comes with the territory. I’d absolutely stay here again. Gilles Rebmann, General Manager at Renaissance New York Midtown Hotel, responded to this review Dear Saritatay,Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed review! We’re thrilled to hear you enjoyed the skyline views from the 35th floor, our convenient location near MSG and the Empire State Building, and especially the warm service from our team. It means a great deal to know our staff helped make your family’s stay memorable. We’ll be sure to share your kind words with them.We look forward to welcoming you and your family back again soon!

    Convenient and Clean!

    rating29 Mar 2026

Close to Penn Station/MSG, the property is stylish and clean and makes a good first impression. Check-in, check-out, and other staff interactions were all pleasant. Unfortunately, their club lounge is closed for long term construction, which was not mentioned in the hotel’s welcome email. They offered a small breakfast buffet in the restaurant instead, but no snack options. No added destination fee. 👍We did not get a room on a higher floor despite earlier requests and having this preference in my Bonvoy profile. We could hear street noise and sirens, but blasting the HVAC fan on high helped. Not much of a view. The room itself was nice. Modern decor, very clean. A bit cramped and we kept walking into the sharp corner of the bed frame! The mattress and pillows were comfortable. Funky glass walled bathroom with a roller shade for some privacy. The towels felt thin and scratchy. Full size Kevin Murphy bottle set-up in the shower and good water pressure. Decent counter space and lighting. Bathrobe and slippers were available upon request.
