Would Stay Again for our Next City Visit!

    rating26 May 2026

Anniversary weekend in the city and the Residence Inn exceeded our expectations. Compared to other Residence Inns we've stayed at, this is by far the nicest given the amazing views we had. We had a corner room on the top floor overlooking Central Park and the other window, the Hudson. The room was not ready when we arrived at 2pm, so we dropped off our bags and went shopping and got a few things completed on our list. When we returned, our room was ready and we didn't know they had set up the room with cupcakes, prosecco, and an anniversary card. Very nice touch! We did seek assistance for a toilet issue and for housekeeping, but it was all handled by the time we returned. The customer service was really good at every touch point. Well done! Marriott Hotels, Guest Services / Front Office at Residence Inn New York Manhattan/Central Park, responded to this review Dear Guest,We love it when guests choose to celebrate special moments with us, and we are so pleased we could help make your anniversary weekend enjoyable and memorable. The stunning views from your top-floor accommodations sound like the perfect backdrop for such an occasion, and we are delighted the thoughtful surprises waiting in your room added an extra special touch to your stay. We also appreciate your patience regarding the delay at arrival and are glad our team was able to quickly assist with the concerns that came up during your visit. Your kind words about the hospitality you received truly mean a lot to us. We look forward to welcoming you back again for another unforgettable stay at Residence Inn New York Manhattan/Central Park in the future.Yours sincerely, Roberto Victor Director of Rooms

First NYC trip - Elevator situation was the only issue

    rating04 May 2026

This was our first time in NYC and we are a family of 5 (including 3 adult children). We had two rooms, a Family Suite and a King city view. Our King room ended up being a corner room, so that was a nice unexpected surprise. Don't be fooled by the name "suite" for the other room, it was tiny, but we weren't in the rooms very much. There were a few hiccups in the girls room...tub was stopped up, AC didn't work, not enough towels left for the 3 of them, but they were all remedied very quickly. The bathrooms could have both used a good scrubbing. Free breakfast was nice to tide us over for a bit so we could get started early in our exploration of the city. Everyone was very pleasant and the location was perfect. Honestly the only reason I wouldn't stay again is because of the elevator situation. The hotel is split with the first 35 floors belonging to Courtyard, and the rest of the floors belonging to Residence Inn. There were four elevators for each section and for the Residence Inn elevator bank, there were never 4 working at the same time, and they are TINY. I mean, REALLY tiny. We ALWAYS had to wait. Since there were 5 of us, we would usually have to split up and make 2-3 trips to go up or down, we rarely were able to get in an elevator together. A few mornings, we waited 10-15 minutes to get an elevator down to breakfast. It's just not worth it to stay here again because of that. I hate to say that because everything else was wonderful, but that was just a bad experience. Marriott Hotels, Guest Services / Front Office at Residence Inn New York Manhattan/Central Park, responded to this review Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay and for the generous words about our accommodations and amenities, particularly the complimentary breakfast. However, we hope you will accept our apologies for the inconvenience with certain in-room facilities. We are happy that our staff was able to make this right for you, and we truly appreciate your recognition of their efforts. Most importantly, we are sorry to hear about your experience with the elevators. In a bustling hotel like ours, we understand how important timely and efficient transportation between floors can be. Please know that we are constantly improving our property to enhance our guests' experiences. We hope you will reconsider another visit so we can show you the experience you deserve.Yours sincerely,Roberto VictorDirector of Rooms

    Exceptional Service

    rating02 May 2026

We had the pleasure of staying from April 17th–21st, 2026 on our first visit to NYC, and it was an amazing experience. I’d like to highlight an exceptional staff member, Golden, who truly went above and beyond for us.We arrived early in the morning before the 4pm check-in and he immediately arranged an early check-in and even a room upgrade with a spectacular view! He also kindly took us straight to the buffet breakfast so we could relax and settle in.Throughout our stay, he consistently ensured we were comfortable and happy. His kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail made our first NYC trip incredibly special. He is a true asset to the hotel and deserves recognition. Misrepresentation of Room Booking and Poor Service

    rating02 May 2026

We stayed at Residence Inn by Marriott New York Manhattan/Central Park for 10 days in April 2026. As a frequent Marriott guest and Marriott Bonvoy member, I selected this hotel based on trust and consistency. We booked directly through Marriott’s website about four months in advance, choosing a specific room type with a clearly advertised layout, size, and view. The images presented were clearly tied to that room type (not generic hotel images), and we paid extra for it.What we experienced upon arrival was very different:*The room assigned to us was not the one we booked*It was noticeably smaller and more cramped, especially the bedroom, which felt very tight compared to the advertised layout*Several features shown in the booking were missing, including the bath and certain kitchenette elements*The room had significant noise issues (very loud refrigerator and constant elevator noise)*Cleanliness was not up to standard, as there was hair in the showerService and issue handling:We raised the issue the next day, but instead of resolving it, we were repeatedly asked to “come back tomorrow” to check if the correct room might become available. This happened over multiple days, with no proactive follow-up from staff. While the staff maintained that the room was in the same category, it clearly did not match the size, layout, or features of what we had booked. The process of repeatedly returning to reception during our stay was frustrating and unnecessary.Final thoughts:The experience was disappointing, particularly given the advance booking, additional cost, and expectations associated with the Marriott brand. The discrepancy between the advertised room and the one provided, along with the lack of effective resolution, significantly impacted our stay.A formal complaint has been submitted, along with supporting screenshots and photos. Marriott Hotels, Guest Services / Front Office at Residence Inn New York Manhattan/Central Park, responded to this review Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback regarding your recent stay with us. I am truly sorry to read about your experience, and I regret that we did not meet the expectations you rightfully had as a valued Marriott Bonvoy member and returning guest.I sincerely apologize for the discrepancies you encountered with your room assignment. It is especially disappointing to hear that the room did not reflect what was clearly presented and selected at the time of booking, particularly given that this was an important factor in your decision to stay with us. I also regret the issues you experienced with the room size, missing features, noise disturbances, and cleanliness upon arrival. This is not the standard we strive to uphold.Equally concerning is the way your concerns were handled during your stay. I apologize that you were asked to repeatedly follow up without receiving a timely or proactive resolution. Your time is valuable, and this should not have impacted your vacation experience. Please rest assured that your feedback has been taken very seriously and is being shared with our leadership team to address these shortcomings and prevent similar situations in the future. We truly value your loyalty to Marriott, and it is disappointing to know we fell short during this visit. While I understand a formal complaint has already been submitted, I would welcome the opportunity to personally follow up and work toward restoring your confidence in us.Thank you again for bringing this to our attention, and I hope we may have the chance to provide you with the experience you originally expected in the future.Yours sincerely,Roberto VictorDirector of Rooms

Warm & Personal and Excellent Location!

    rating29 Apr 2026

Returned for my second stay because of the excellent location in Manhattan. I was blown away by Rinchen’s (housekeeper) hospitality. She is the perfect example of amazing service—always stopping what she was doing to help me with a smile. Our brief, kind conversations made me feel so welcome that I didn't want to leave. Marriott should be very proud to have her. I'll be back soon! Marriott Hotels, Guest Services / Front Office at Residence Inn New York Manhattan/Central Park, responded to this review Dear Guest, Thank you for the generous review and for choosing to stay with us once again.
