    The pearl was a gem!

    rating05 Jun 2026

I took my mother to New York for an 80th birthday Broadway tour, and I chose to stay at The Pearl. It was a great experience! The hotel is quiet (we were only on the 7th floor!), the rooms are a decent size, and the location is unbeatable—convenient to all the theatres. Complimentary breakfast was pretty typical, but filling, and the staff—all of them—were wonderful! I have no complaints. I'd definitely stay there again.

The Great and The Not So Great

    rating04 Jun 2026

A marriage milestone meant a couple of days of celebration in Midtown . We chose The Pearl because of its awesome location to everything we had planned. The hotel did not disappoint . It has a small but welcoming lobby, a lovely and helpful staff, and really good sized and comfortable rooms. Towels were plenty, beds were comfy and on the 6th floor , we did not hear the outside world. (rm 606) That is the GreatThe not so Great...was the extra fees and taxes! Now I knew the final price going in but seeing the actual breakdown was surprising...A Daily Facility Fee ! "It's for the Gym and the 5pm wine in the lobby" Well I did not use the Gym and as for the happy hour wine...if you are charging me for it...Get better wine!! To top that off there was a Tax on that Fee! A Sales tax from the city and state! A Hotel Unit fee and a Occupancy Tax fee! Not to mention the actually cost of the room.I was told NY requires all these fees? Really ??Would I stay there again? Probably, but I better start saving now!!

    Wonderful Stay in NYC

    rating09 Apr 2026

Based on the positive reviews, we booked 8 nights in this hotel. We were not disappointed. Our room was spacious and offered all we needed. Modern and big bathroom. Only the fridge was a bit noisy. All the staff is extemely friendly, whoever we met had a smile on the face and any question was answered. The breakfast room was sometimes a bit crowded, and there was not really a big variety offered like we are used to from hotels in Europe. But always enough to have a good start into the day. The biggest advantage of the hotel is the local. Around the corner from Times Square, we could walk to Musical performances in minutes. Lots of restaurants nearby, and several subway stations in walking distance. If we go to NYC again, we´ll definitely book The Pearl Hotel again.

If I Could Give Zero, I Would. A man walked into our room in the middle of the night.

If I Could Give Zero, I Would. A man walked into our room in the middle of the night.I am not someone who normally writes negative reviews — in fact, this is my first 1-star review ever. But our experience at The Pearl last week was so unacceptable that I feel obligated to warn others.I stayed there with my mom and my two sisters. On our last night, at 11:00 PM, while all four of us were asleep, a male staff member entered our room without permission. We were startled awake to find a stranger inside. He claimed it was a “mistake” and that he was supposed to be delivering toilet paper to a different room. Mistake or not, there is absolutely no scenario where a staff member should be entering an occupied room at 11 PM without announcing themselves, or verifying the room number. It was invasive, frightening, and completely unacceptable. What makes this worse is that management is now denying that this even happened and has refused to refund our stay. Instead of taking accountability for a serious breach of safety and privacy, they’ve chosen to dismiss our experience entirely.Beyond that alarming incident, the room itself was nowhere near “4-star” quality. There was visible black mold in the bathroom, which triggered allergic reactions for my sister. We were not provided enough towels for four guests. Cleanliness was below standard, and the overall condition of the room was disappointing at best.Safety, cleanliness, and basic professionalism should be the bare minimum at any hotel — especially one claiming to be 4-star. The Pearl failed on all counts. We left feeling unsafe, unheard, and completely disregarded as paying guests. I would strongly caution anyone considering staying here.If I could give zero stars, I would.

    The Pearl is a Gem

    rating09 Feb 2026

We loved the Pearl. The room was clean, spacious, comfortable decorated nicely. Service was excellent. We stayed in one night because it was bitter cold. Our TV was out and the manager came right up to fix it. The included breakfast was good and there was complimentary wine in the evening. The hotel is directly across from the Eugene O’Neill Theater where the Book of Mormon was playing. We were able to simply cross the street to see the show. The other theater we went to for Two Strangers carry a cake (excellent show!) was on the next block and all the theaters are a quick walk. We walked to Radio City, Rockefeller Plaza and Empire State Building. Times Square is right there and numerous great restaurants of all types were just minutes away. I recommend the Pearl for anyone wanting to stay in the Theater District or Times Square.
