    Broken mirror not by us!

    We stayed in this rundown hotel, as it calls itself. The room was small and the air conditioning was noisy. But what really upset us was that they kept our $100 deposit, blaming us for breaking the mirror, which was absolutely not our fault. The staff was not at all courteous; no matter what we asked, they didn't respond politely. The breakfast wasn't plentiful; the tables were few and dirty, and often occupied. The morning we left, we asked if they could pack us a bag of breakfast, since we have a young child, but they refused. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, even though the location is good.

    The hotel is priced below most hotels in NYC. There are reasons for this. It’s about 3/4 mile to the theater district; the rooms are very small and it’s definitely “no frills”. That being said, if you’re just sleeping there and don’t mind the walk (or taxi ride) to get to where you’re going it’s an OK choice. The staff was friendly and helpful; the breakfast was just what you would expect from Comfort Inn, and we felt safe, even walking back from the theater at night.

    I rarely write reviews, but my recent stay at your Midtown location compels me to be brutally honest: this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had.The Wi-Fi was a complete nightmare—slower than DSL, intermittent, and completely unreliable. Two public networks were available, neither functional: one (“Comfort_Inn”) promised connectivity but failed to reliably log in, and the other (“Wireless”) barely registered at all. For a hotel in the heart of New York City, this is absurd and unacceptable.The staff’s behavior, however, was the most egregious part of my stay. I was subjected to a litany of unprofessional, petty, and legally questionable behavior, including:Unjustified demands to enter my room: Staff repeatedly tried to gain access without valid reason and refused to provide details in writing, turning a simple stay into a stressful ordeal.Harassment over my service dog: Staff insisted on seeing physical certification or a vest, despite ADA laws clearly stating this is not required. They attempted to intimidate me, citing a “no pets” policy that has no legal standing for service animals.Dismissiveness and outright rudeness: Every attempt to address the situation calmly was met with condescension, ignorance, and petty power plays. Staff seemed more interested in asserting authority than actually serving guests.General incompetence: Between the Wi-Fi issues and the staff’s unprofessionalism, it felt like the hotel actively worked against providing a basic level of service.This experience was not only frustrating but also made me feel unsafe and disrespected. A hotel’s responsibility is to provide a secure, welcoming environment for paying guests—not to create unnecessary drama, violate guest rights, or showcase ignorance of fundamental accessibility laws.I strongly urge management to seriously address these failures. Training, accountability, and a thorough review of policies regarding guest rights, accessibility, and professional conduct are essential. Guests should never leave a hotel feeling belittled, harassed, or disregarded, as I did during my stay.

    This hotel was disgusting! Booking photos were lies!

    This hotel was disgusting, unclean and dilapidated. I was moved once and neither room matched the booking photos. My first room had no working lights and a dead phone. I had to call the front desk from my cell and ask to be moved. The second room had visibly dirty carpet and sticky bathroom floors. The booking photos showed a stall shower and these rooms had tubs. Stall showers are important for a mobility impaired person like me and the tub wasn't even clean. When I moved, I left a bag in the first room. Your front desk staffer wouldn't go with me to look for it so I had to wait for the shift change to get one of your employees to care. I have never seen such terrible service and unfit facilities. Your company should be ashamed of itself. This dump shouldn't share a brand name and no customer should be treated like I was. This was FRAUD!

    Better than expected!

    The maps lead you to believe this location is out of the way, but that is not the case! While it's not immediately next to the public subway, we easily walked to Times Sq and Broadway theaters with plenty of awesome drink/restaurant options along the way. These hotel rooms were substantially larger than expected for NYC rooms--included breakfast & Keurig coffee makers in the room were a nice plus. Electricity/USB ports by both sides of the (Queen) bed always makes us happy. Check-in/out was painless and the front door has easy access for Uber/Lyft and easy walk ramps for big bags and those with limited mobility. Overall cleanliness was excellent. This hotel is definitely a good find that exceeded expectations and we will book again!
