A great Marriott property offering a very fine breakfast, comfortable suites and an engaging front desk team. The location is awesome. We had occasion to deal with one of the hotel Managers “Brian” and he was very client focused and sets a great example for the team.A real gem of a property! General Manager, Guest Services / Front Office at TownePlace Suites New York Manhattan / Times Square, responded to this review It is such a joy to read feedback like yours, mbres911! We are overjoyed that you enjoyed our breakfast, comfortable suites, and found our front desk team welcoming during your stay at TownePlace Suites by Marriott New York Manhattan/Times Square. Hearing your kind words about Brian means a great deal to us, and we are grateful to have leaders on our team who truly care about our guests. DON’T STAY HERE IF YOU WANT A GOOD NIGHT’S SLEEP!

    rating08 May 2026

DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU WANT A GOOD NIGHT’s SLEEP! While the location of this Marriott property was perfect for what we had planned in the theater district we had a horrible stay. On our first night, after driving 18 hours up to New York from Florida and wanting nothing more but a good night sleep, we were met with a room with no air-conditioning and pillows as thin as a cracker and a mattress that probably rivals most prisons. Our room was also facing the street, so the sound of traffic and sirens was also blaring all night. They didn’t move us to a new room until 3 PM the next day and this room is not without its flaws either: Such as two electrical outlets that don’t work, a bathroom door that doesn’t stay closed, which is not great for Privacy and again pillows as thin as crackers. My husband had to actually get up in the middle of the night and go down to the front desk and ask for a new pillows which he finally got after about an hour. I’m posted this same review on Google while we still had one more night stay here hoping that Marriott Management might see this annd actually take some action. NOTHING!! This hotel is in dire need of some corporate intervention and Marriott should be embarrassed to have this property in their portfolio. I have been a Marriott Bonvoy member for many years and I always looked for Marriott properties because they rarely if ever disappoint. This place does not fit in with what Marriott expectations should be. To further add to the aggravation. There is one elevator, which is slower, quite literally than walking up and down the stairs, which we did pretty much every day. Will never stay here again and will definitely do more research next time as apparently I can no longer rely on just the Marriott name! ☹️

    Won’t be a 2nd visit

    rating03 May 2026

If you’re from a town or city that has homes with white picket fences & flowers in the yard, you’ll be in for a culture shock! If you take the subway, you’ll have to walk past a pot shop where many of their clients just hang out in the streets. There seems to be a housing project closeby & some of the tenants pull out chairs to just hang out all day. Once inside the hotel, it seems ok. The hotel itself isn’t anything special. It fills the need. The only time anyone spoke to us from the front desk was when we checked in the 1st day & out the last. All of the other days, they just glanced at us going in &;out daily. Our room didn’t have a safe & was in need of a few hooks to hang towels on in the bathroom.the kitchen was equipped with the very bare basics, which were enough. The morning free breakfast was pretty standard, but a nice option to get if you wanted. Our room faced the street & there were nights where we could hear loud people or music in the middle of the night, and we were on the 8th floor. Our room & the hotel seemed to be clean & decent enough, but honestly, nothing special enough to bring me back. General Manager, Guest Services / Front Office at TownePlace Suites New York Manhattan / Times Square, responded to this review Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, Susan. It sounds like the neighborhood and the overall atmosphere around the hotel influenced your visit, and we understand that the vibrant energy of Midtown Manhattan can feel quite different from quieter surroundings. We are glad you found your guest room and our property to be clean. Your comments about the interactions with our front desk team members and the setup of your guest room, including the safe and towel hooks, matter to us. We will share your feedback with our Guest Relations and housekeeping teams so they can consider ways to make future visits more inviting and comfortable.Although we are glad you were able to enjoy the breakfast and found the basics you needed in the kitchen, it's disappointing to know your overall experience did not leave a lasting impression. We appreciate you letting us know about your visit.Sana ArshadGeneral Manager

I posted this same review on Google while we still had one more night stay here hoping that Marriott Management might see this and actually take some action. THEY DID NOT! I ended up getting a response which was just a bland apology. I have requested at least a partial refund and so far no response. This hotel is in dire need of some corporate intervention and Marriott should be embarrassed to have this property in their portfolio. It is clear that the challenges you faced with your room, including issues with comfort, air conditioning, noise, and maintenance, made your visit far more stressful than it should have been. Our housekeeping and engineering teams will absolutely review the concerns you raised, and our Guest Relations team will follow up regarding your request for a refund, as well as your feedback about communication. We know you have come to trust the Marriott brand over the years, and we deeply regret letting you down on this occasion. Your comments serve as a reminder of the improvements we must make, and we appreciate you sharing them with us.Sana ArshadGeneral Manager

    Lied to and dirty

    rating14 Mar 2026

There were many MANY issues. We checked in and they didn’t have our room type available (which we booked? Like what) We booked two queens but were given a king. We were told to move to our actual room type tomorrow. That’s fine and if it ended there the review would still be high. I will say though that the woman working the front desk that night was super helpful and it was not at all her fault. The next day we go to move rooms and the guy working the desk says sure and looks into it, says the new room is ready and gives us our keys, we ask and confirm with him we are moving to a 2 queen room. We head up to the room and it’s a queen and pull out sofa. Front desk person straight up lied to us, we called front desk and he said our room type “doesen’t exist” (it actually does he was just being too lazy to fix the issue, corporate confirmed this to us later) not wanting to go down and argue cuz it doesn’t get you anywhere and he was clearly too lazy to fix it anyway we decided to deal with it. The room was also FILTHY. Dog pee stains on the floor, Sticky stuff on the wall for example. I would say that the bed was pretty comfortable. The shower however must have a small water tank connected to other rooms. So if multiple rooms by you take a shower, you do not get hot water. Whatever you do, there are other marriots that are cheaper in the area, do not go here, I did not enjoy a single bit of my 4 nights here. I am a lifetime Titanium member and this is easily the worst Marriott I have ever stayed at.
