  Room surpassingly good for older Motor Lodge

  It is difficult to find hotels in Suffolk County. We wanted a place near Huntington Station. We decided on the Whitman Motor Lodge. The motel is very clean and safe. The area is commercial with auto dealers, doctor offices, pizza restaurants etc. on Jerico Turnpike. There are three types of rooms, The first series are the 100s in the front, perhaps 20 feet from the highway -very noisy from traffic. Next are the 200s room series of rooms behind the front rooms quiet. Lastly there are the 300s rooms in the back across from the 200s series of rooms and quiet. You park right in front of all rooms. We had room 307. It was a two-room suite fully modernized. A lot of money went into the bathroom with white tiles from floor to ceiling, a very modern sink with an expensive faucet, and a finger touch powerful toilet. The front room has a very nice leather pullout, large TV, eating table with three chairs, small refrigerator, micro-oven and a unique combined flat stove -sink setup. There were two queen sized beds with very clean linens. The stay was worth the $300+ cost. We would return. Upon checkout, we were asked how our stay was- we answered wonderful.

  Welcoming, Clean and Comfortable Hotel

  Stayed in hotel as was attending family wedding nearby travelling from UK. The welcome was fantastic with the friendly service and assistance. Room was quiet, clean, bed comfortable and shower had decent water pressure. Various places within walking distance for some food/drink/shopping too. Other family members regretted not staying here! I would definitely stay again if returning to area in future.

  This is the best deal on Long Island. An affordable hotel in a sea of outrageous priced options. The rooms were not just clean, but delightful, pleasant and comfortable. Spotless bathrooms and nice beds. The woman who took my reservation for two rooms and checked us in was super nice and a pleasure to talk to. I've seen complaints about traffic noise, which might be a problem along the front row, but we were on the back side of the building that houses the office, and had no issue with noise. A truly enjoyable stay!

  Clean, comfortable and quiet

  "Don't judge a book by its cover!" Check-in was fast and the lady was very polite and helpful. From outside appearance this is your classic "built a long time ago" single-story motel. Nothing spectacular on the outside though certainly in good shape. The inside of my room (#401) was obviously NOT as old as the motel itself. It appeared to have been renovated somewhat recently (or at least kept up to look almost new). Large flat screen TV, microwave and small frig. Bed was comfortable as far as "not my own bed" goes! The room and bathroom were very clean. The bathroom had a modern look to it and everything worked properly. Nice hot, strong shower. The parking lot was full yet I never heard noises from any other rooms. You won't get a free breakfast here like many of the chain hotels but there are plenty of restaurants within a short drive. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
