    Weekend in the Bay Area

    rating28 Feb 2026

We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Fremont/Milpitas for two nights beginning on February 27, 2026.We did not arrive until after 11pm on Friday evening. The person at the front desk was very friendly; however, we did use the digital key to check-in. Overall, we were very pleased with the room. This hotel opened in 2021, and it is doing relatively well. Overall, the room was in good condition, with only minor wear and tear. We were pleased overall. The bed was comfortable, except the sheets have seen better days. The climate control also worked well.We had two issues with our stay, which could be corrected.Number one, hot water took a very very long time to come to our room. It was a blatant waste of water. We had to have the faucet or shower on at full stream for at least two minutes before it started to get hot. They really should fix that.Second, the service at breakfast was horrible on Saturday morning. There was only one front of house employee. He started at us upon arriving and standing in front of him for almost a full minute. Eventually, he said "will you be having the buffet?". We said, "We don't know yet". He then continued to stare at us. We said "should we sit anywhere?". He said "sure" and then disappeared. We had to pull menus from the service stand and go sit down. He never checked in with us once. I honestly feel ridiculous that I even left a tip; however, I did ---that's on me.So, nice hotel; however, the hot water and that server at breakfast needs some work!

    Thin walls

    rating29 Dec 2025

Kudos to ROB at reception for a smooth check-in process. Lucky enough to get an early check-in at 2pm. The hotel is new and clean! Water is not provided anywhere in the hotel, room has two bottles complimentary for HILTON rewards members only (which we were not). Coffeemaker in-room if you brought own water, otherwise , it’s $3 per small bottle. Ice machine in every floor. The bad thing…. this room has VERY THIN WALLS. I heard the next room guests as if they were talking just outside our door! Then we noticed that we were separated by a single middle door (our rooms are adjoining rooms) and the bottom of the door has a wide gap (pic included) that is why we can hear EVERYTHING the other room was talking about!) it is rooms 421 and 423. Try not to get any of those two rooms unless you want adjoining rooms. I don’t understand why we were given half of an adjoining room, the hotel wasn’t full and we could have had another room. We heard the other room’s dinner plans and how bad their lunch was and everything else the guests and their kids were discussing about. Adjoining rooms should be reserved for families or friends that purposely book two rooms together! Or change the middle door to one with thicker wood.

    Disappointing Experience

    rating11 Apr 2025

Very disappointed in this stay. The rooms are fairly nice and clean but the service and interactions with the staff and management are not what you would expect at a Hilton brand. We stayed two nights and were ready to leave at checkin. This is not a hotel I would return to.

A better than average HGI hotel, with a couple quibbles (and a big pool!)

    rating02 Mar 2024

So really, I've stayed at so many HGI's that it's just repeating myself saying things about outlets and such. So I'm going to talk about the different things I found here versus my other experiences because the bed and pillows and such are the same (and if ever otherwise, that'd really be a problem).First, there is no closet, but instead a walk-in area with several drawers on the wall on one side and a bunch of hangers on the other (much needed). Second, while you can get a proper hot shower, it takes running it quite a lot for it to get hot, but when it does, it is hot. Third, the TV is just normal DirecTV, no connections to YouTube or things like that, so make sure you have your digital entertainment with you. And finally, I wouldn't necessarily recommend paying extra for a mountain view. It's not really a mountain, but more like rolling hills or something like that. The bigger plus (and it probably doesn't really matter that much given its location) is that the view is private so you don't have someone possibly looking back at you.As for the hotel itself, it feels fairly new, but I will admit in the 5th floor hallway there is a bit of a weird smell, but not a big deal for me. The biggest thing to note is that the pool is *HUGE* (at least compared to some of the pools I've seen). You could fit several families in there no problem. It does face the street though, so not necessarily much privacy. And they even have a shower in there too! ...Except that you get no hot water. But at least taking a shower makes the pool feel warm, so there's that.
