Good location, modest service

I've stayed at this property several times over the past five years. The location is good and the staff are friendly. The amenities may be in decline. My room didn't have a clock or a light on one side of the bed (I was alone, but this would have been a challenge if there were two of us). The breakfast options also seemed more modest than the usual for a Hampton Inn. I was on the second floor, so the window faced right on the building next door.

I was very concerned because we were 2 ladies dressed up to go to a concert in Oakland. I was delighted to find that the area was safe and the hotel was clean, comfy and secure. Yes, $50 is a lot to park, but because safety was our main concern, we didn’t mind. Ashanny at the front desk was very patient and helpful when I needed technical help calling an Uber. Tania was very kind, thorough, and professional with check in and checkout. I appreciate that she also acknowledged our Diamond status and gave us water for our drive home to Fresno. Breakfast was sufficient and area was very clean and well maintained We had a nice and quick stay Thank you

This inn is modern, stylish, clean, well-maintained & well-managed. Room and bedding very much up to Hampton standards, as was the front desk whereTanya was very efficient, pleasant and accommodating at check-in, and helpful later with guidance to local businesses. Breakfast was up to Hampton standards, and was served in a spacious and pleasant dining area. There was a well-stocked selection of snacks and frozen entrees. As we were not driving, I cannot comment on parking availability.

Do not book here using a virtual-only corporate card. The front desk refuses to accept NFC payments at check-in, something which they do not tell you when you book. Due to a Hilton Honors app outage, I was put out waiting for 2hr+ on the phone with their tech support in order to check in for a room I had booked. All the meanwhile the front desk could do nothing to help me, except put me on the phone with their general manager who shouted at me to find a different hotel. Completely absurd. Otherwise, the hotel was fine: clean, quite friendly service otherwise.

The building looks nice and appears recently remodeled-but that’s where the positives end. 1. The bedding on one of the beds in our room was dirty and smelled strongly of perfume. YUCK! 2. The shades in our room were broken so we could not open them in the AM. 3. The milk at the breakfast buffet appeared very watered down, but we assumed maybe it was skim and not 2% as labeled. But it was BAD! Like one bite spit your cereal out bad. 4. Conditioner in shower was empty, body wash super watered down. Seems like they are really cutting corners all around!
