    Bad bad bad

    rating13 Mar 2026

Terrible experience. We booked this hotel as we had our teenage grandsons with us. It was filthy all over. Black mold caked along the pool edge. Hairballs everywhere in the pools. The water park was rarely open…and when it was only one slide (sketchy as it was) was working. No food in the “free” breakfast.

Stellar staff but hotel needs a lot of work

    rating11 Mar 2026

I have mixed feelings about our recent visit, but I want to start with the highlight of our stay. The ServiceThe two women working the outdoor waterpark and pool area were nothing short of amazing. Even as the day wound down and the park was nearly empty, they remained incredibly friendly, helpful, and wore huge smiles. They even let my daughter continue playing solo when the crowds thinned out, giving her a "private park" experience she won’t soon forget. They are a massive asset to this hotel. The FacilitiesWhile the service was 5-star, the waterpark itself is showing its age in a concerning way. I understand the hotel is undergoing major changes, and I sincerely hope the slides are on the refurbishment list. We noticed: * Significant rust and corrosion throughout the waterpark structures. * Structural instability: One of the watersides shook violently whenever an adult used it, which felt quite unsafe. One slide out of three was opened. Kids play zone closed Hot spa closed Water park slide did not open til 2. Main pool is heated which was nice. Tiki Bar was closed; so we had to order in to avoid leaving the hotel for food.My VerdictGo for the wonderful hospitality and the lazy river, but use the slides with caution. If the management matches the quality of the facilities to the quality of their staff during this renovation, this place will be a knockout.

Historic Resort with Great Layout, But Needs Updates

    rating15 Feb 2026

We stayed one night at the Ramada by Wyndham Hotel & Water Park in Kissimmee at the end of an east coast Florida trip with our family. For context, this property originally opened in 1966 and operated for decades as the Flamingo Waterpark Resort before being acquired in 2023 by Grupo Sion and rebranded under the Ramada by Wyndham name. Its been updated many times in the past, but is due for another refresh. Knowing that history helps explain the overall feel. It has great bones, but it’s clearly an older property still working its way through updates. The layout is actually one of its strongest features. The hotel is built in a large square shape with all the amenities in the middle courtyard, so everything is easy to access without leaving the property. On one side is the waterpark area, which includes two waterslides, a lazy river, and a kiddie splash pool. In the centre is a Tiki bar serving food and drinks, which gives the place a fun, tropical vibe for adults while still being close to the action. On the opposite side is a main pool and a mini-golf course (which is a fun idea for families, though fairly low quality and basic). The waterpark being open was a big plus for us. It closes at 6PM, which felt a bit early, but the main pool and Tiki bar stay open until 10PM. This ended up being the warmest day of our trip and our first real pool day, so the timing worked out well for our crew. Our room was decent overall. The flooring appeared newer, but much of the furniture, television, and bathroom fixtures were dated. It included a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker, which is helpful when traveling with kids and snacks. The air conditioning worked fine, though the ceiling fan struggled to spin properly. Overall the room was clean and we were quite comfortable. Wi-Fi was minor drawback. Speeds were under 5 Mbps and not reliable enough to stream on a Roku stick. It wasn’t a dealbreaker for a short stay, but if strong internet is important to you, especially for kids winding down with a show at night, it’s something to be aware of.Breakfast is included, which is always appreciated when traveling with kids. It opened at 7:00AM, and we arrived around 7:40AM. At that point, the only items available were cereal, hard-boiled eggs, juice, and coffee. The other hot items such as toast and scrambled eggs were already gone and were not replenished while we were there. It wasn’t a major issue for a one-night stay, but the selection felt limited given how early it still was. Overall, this property has a lot of potential. The courtyard design, water amenities, and contained resort style setup make it convenient for families, but the age of the building and uneven updates are noticeable throughout. With the 2023 acquisition and rebranding, there’s hope that further renovations may be coming. With investment, this could become a very solid mid-range family option. For now, I’d say it’s worth a short stay if you’re looking for an affordable waterpark experience and a fun pool day, but I wouldn’t choose it as a home base for a longer vacation.

worst experience ever. the water park was closed though 2 days prior I was told everything was functional and running but it was rotted with broken. the breakfast was a joke. apples milk and bread but they offered to sell you a breakfast. that fees went to nothing. i do not recommend it to anyone. very old and dirty. the photos online are from when the flamingo hotel opened prior to the slumlords taking over and not investing money to fix and upgrade

We won't make this mistake again

Kissimmee Ramada Review – Thanksgiving 2025My spouse and I selected this hotel based on its location in Kissimmee, the Ramada brand reputation, and its advertised “Water Park.” While the location met our expectations, the overall experience did not align with the brand’s standards. Arrival & Property:Upon arrival, the property appeared neglected, with a poorly maintained driveway and parking lot. The Ramada signage was a temporary tarp, and the lobby was clean but uninviting. The staff were courteous and helpful, which was a positive aspect. Rooms:The room was relatively clean but outdated and in need of renovation. Issues included a malfunctioning coffee maker, visible mold, and mildew in the bathroom. The flooring did not appear to be thoroughly cleaned, feeling gritty and dirty requiring us to wear socks throughout our stay. Dining:There was no dinner service available. The complimentary breakfast consisted of limited options such as sauteed hot dogs, pancakes, cantaloupe, and cold cereal. The selection was the same and remained unchanged throughout our stay. Water Park & Pool:The “Water Park” was largely non-operational, with only the lazy river open. The water slide was closed and appeared unsafe due to visible mold, rust, and structural concerns. Cabanas available to rent were dirty and torn in places. The pool was open but required significant maintenance, and accessibility equipment was in poor condition (cracked, broken in places with heavy duty tape to hold it together.Marketing & Brand Representation:Online photos were outdated and did not reflect the current state of the property. Since Ramada’s acquisition, minimal improvements have been made. The experience did not meet expectations for a Ramada by Wyndham property. Conclusion:Based on this experience, we do not plan to return to this property or other Ramada locations.
