    Bedbugs

    rating07 Jun 2026

Please take my advice and stay anywhere but here.My family and I booked a two-night stay at this hotel in mid-May 2026. We checked in around 3:00 PM, and while the property was already disappointing in terms of cleanliness and overall condition, the worst was yet to come.By approximately 11:00 PM that night, both my children and I were being repeatedly bitten by bugs. After investigating, I stripped the bedding and inspected the mattresses. What I found was absolutely unacceptable. The mattresses were filthy, and the room itself—including the floors—was in a condition that should never be offered to paying guests.I immediately went to the front desk and reported the issue. One employee was professional, helpful, and moved us to another room. Unfortunately, another employee I dealt with later was rude and unprofessional. He refused to provide his own name when asked and instead gave me the name of the employee who had assisted me earlier.Although we were moved to a different room, the damage had already been done. We had planned to spend the next day enjoying activities in Orlando, but after a sleepless night of scratching and discomfort, we decided to cut our vacation short, pack our belongings, and leave a full day early. The financial impact didn’t end there. Once we returned home, I spent hundreds of dollars laundering clothing and other belongings out of fear of bringing bed bugs into our home. We also had to discard items that could not be safely cleaned or treated. What should have been a fun family vacation turned into a stressful and expensive nightmare. Between the unsanitary conditions, the suspected bed bug infestation, the lost vacation time, and the additional expenses incurred afterward, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. Since returning home, I have also attempted to reach out to hotel staff regarding our experience and have yet to receive any response. I would strongly recommend choosing another hotel if you’re visiting the Orlando area.

    BEWARE

    rating29 Apr 2026

Hotel looks nothing like advertised photos. Nothing is open, everything is broken. The buildings are dilapidated and molded over. The pool color is gross, no awning for shades. All furniture is worn and beat up. Hotel has a horrible smell in both the lobby and throughout the halls and rooms. There was ZERO communication prior to arrival as to what to do. When I got to the awning that looked like the front desk area, I had to walk down a sketchey hall way and find the front desk. Front awning has been hit by a car on both sides and is bent. Parking lot is super sketchy looking with holes and broken asphalt. This place should be condemned. Its likely an abandoned time share. Owner refused a refund and takes all money prior with a no return policy but this is likely done on purpose. I did have to leave thankfully for an emergency but I am asking for a refund for the false advertisement that is CLEAR through photos. All reviews of this place are negative across all platforms on the internet.

This hotel is very old. It has NO amenities other than a nasty pool. NO gym, NO restaurant ( I was told it closed last year) NO functioning luggage carts, NO vending machines, The pool side furniture is old and fiithy. There is an ice machine and a very small microwave on the first floor. Need new bed pillows, mattresses, linens, and towels.

    Very bad experience...do not recommend

I only rated it a 1 because I could not rate it a zero. I am in business, so I know how hard business can be. I don't wish ill will on anyone, but there are some basic standards that have to be met if you want to be in business and work to earn mine and my family's hard earned paycheck! My wife and I have been married for 21 years and spent our lives raising 5 kids. Needless to say, our vactions have always included the kids. This was the first time in our 21 years together that my wife and I had a weekend getaway to ourselves. The pictures on the website and reviews looked good, plus we got a great discounted rate through my work's employee portal, but alas, there was a reason why they have to discount the rooms at this hotel. When we got to our room, first our a/c did not work. No big deal, we just called the front desk and reported the problem to which they situated us in a different room. Then the beds and pillows were not comfortable, but hey, it's just a room to sleep in right? The next morning, we get up to take showers and alas, the hotel had no hot water. I decided to take a cold shower while my wife called the front desk to let them know about the issue. She reported the issue but asked them not to send a worker up, because we were getting dressed at 6:30 am. Moments later, we heard a knock at the door. My wife answered the door while dressed only in a towel wrapped around her body exclaiming that she told the front desk worker not to send someone up. The man declared that he was there to check on the hot water and just walked into our room past my wife and into the bathroom where I was in a cold shower totally naked. I told the man, "give me just a second because I am in the shower." The man just stood there in my bathroom, so I was like "Dude, get out of my bathroom so I can get out of the shower, to which he only slightly turned his body away from me and still stood in the doorway of my bathroom while I got out of the shower and dried off. Totally bizarre moment which infuriated my wife. We then called the front desk to complain and literally got no help or assistance. They would not let us speak to a manager or anyone with any authority to help us file a complaint or assist us in getting a refund for our three night stay. This was night one of our fist romantic getaway in 21 years of marriage 😂. Oh well, life is funny sometimes. I just wish there was someone who could understand our situation in times like these who could help us resolve the matter to at least get a decent outcome for our hard earned money that was not well spent. Like I said, "Oh well"! I guess learn from our mistake and do not book this hotel

Unless you want strangers to see you naked, do not stay here.

We booked a room for our anniversary trip at the Monumental Hotel Orlando. When we arrive for check-in, our first room had no air conditioner and the front desk moved us to a secondary room. The next room’s air conditioner worked but wasn’t amazing. The hotel smells funny. The carpet in the first room was disgusting. When we woke up the morning after our first night, stay and tried to take a shower, the hot water wasn’t working. I called to the front desk to let them know and told them not to send anyone up to the room because my husband and I were both naked. I also told them that I had left the water running for almost 10 minutes the front desk receptionist sent someone to my room who barged in on me in a towel and straight into the bathroom, where my husband was butt naked, taking a cold shower. The maintenance man then refused to leave the bathroom so that my husband can get out of the shower and get dressed. Then when we went down front to check out, even though we had more nights left and request a refund the front desk receptionist had zero customer service skills. I had to threaten to call the police and file a sexual harassment charge before she would even call her super superior.
