    This place doesn’t even deserve one star! Holes in the walls. No lock on the room door. Air vents are so dirty they’re black! DISGUSTING! People screaming outside. SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN!!!!!! UNSAFE. UNSANITARY. THE WORST “HOTEL” I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE.

    Upon entering my room I first noticed what a good job maintenance person Courtney had done on improving the room with a great job of freshening up the painting of the room. I had a minor issue of not having a TV remote control in the room. Courtney was quickly notified and he promptly arrived to deliver a remote control. He showed genuine concern that the Opal guests have a pleasureable stay. I'm glad I was able to meet Courtney. He is an asset to Opal Hotel and Suites. He is definitely on point.

    An absolute horrible place to stay!

    This hotel is an absolute mess! Nothing was in working condition. We were given room 110, Filthy as all get out, inside and out. Some elevators don't work; the ice & vending machines didn't work. Roaches, everything in the room is filthy. As you will see from the pictures. This hotel is just not maintained and cared for in any way, shape, or form. Continental breakfast is a joke, consisting of coffee, yogurt, and two cereal containers. We checked in late, so when asked to check out the next day. I was told by the front desk agent, Lisa, that I needed to give them a chance to make things right. I was finally introduced to the general manager. He did offer me another room that was much more acceptable. I did, however, tell the manager that I would stay in the new room because they were going to charge me for it if I stayed or not, but I would still be checking out the next day. I explained that the hotel's conditions were such that I just chose not to stay after that. The manager told me that if I was going to check out the next day, I would have to stay in the disgusting room they had given me the night before, because he didn't want to clean the new room again.I will be reporting this hotel to every agency that will listen. Hopefully, something can be done to stop a business like this from taking advantage of travelers or anyone looking for a safe place to stay.

    The Pros: Desk staff was friendly Lowest cost hotel in the areaRoom was reasonably clean Cons Lobby gives the impression that the hotel is higher quality than it isLock on door worked but seemed not to be attached well to the doorTv did not workCould not connect to the Internet Guests or perhaps residents spent the evening and well into the night smoking marijuana, drinking alcohol and generally partying on the stairs and balcony hallway. This was just outside our room and though they were not aggressive, they did make it difficult to navigate the stairs because they had set up for the night there. The elevator didn't work. All in all even though it was the lowest cost hotel in the area , I paid more than what I got.
