IHG member here- A quick layover for the night before we headed to Asbury Park Beach for the day (45 min ride). Checked in later at night, parking lot full. Reps at front desk very friendly and efficient in checking us in (and out)! Offered us a 1st or 3rd floor room. Room 117. Bathroom light very dim (needs updating!). Sink took FOREVER to drain. King bed COMFORTABLE! Outlets on the bedside table lamps didn't work. AC unit needs updating, noisy. There was humming noises throughout the night, not sure where they were coming from. Curtains need updating, saw holes at daybreak. Didn't stay for the breakfast, that was an added charge. 2 bottles of water available in room. Still had a good night sleep. Unexpected One Night Stay

So I'm a bit late in writing a review but better late than ever. This past January I came home from work to a water main break up the street from my home, about three miles away from this Holiday Inn. The estimated fix of the break was 9pm. Around 9pm I walked out to one of the many trucks on the street to inquire ... nice guy told me he was sorry, they had to wait for the appropriate sized materials to fix the break - estimated restoration 10am next day. I decided to be comfortable and have running water so I grabbed my toothbrush and work clothes for the morning and up the road I went. Room was comfortable but worn, and my few hours there of rest was fine. I was on the 4th floor and the hot water really took its time in the morning shower before arriving. But it did, I dressed, and left a bit of time to enjoy the breakfast downstairs. It was good being that I'm a cereal, milk, OJ, and coffee kinda guy. Very nice lady keeping the breakfast area running well - she brings you the coffee and OJ which was nice. All in all a comfortable spur of the moment stay for me right in town! Now I was very surprised with the $7 breakfast charge that was added to my invoice. Interesting. No other chain hotel that I've stayed at with an open breakfast bar type set up has done that. I think it would be better for the hotel to be up front with this info beforehand. Again, I was very surprised by this. So that's my review. It was good to enjoy running water for the evening g and morning! Pros: Clean, well-kept, huge indoor pool, walkable to restaurants and shops, friendly staff, great price, sauna, shower curtain is not mildew-y. (Pics attached)Cons: Curtains are not black out, gym treadmill is broken, breakfast isn’t free, carpet needs to be replaced. We were visiting for our sons graduation and had booked this hotel on the official website and received an official confirmation from them for our stay in May 2026.But Sadly when we reached the hotel at 12.30 a.m. they said that it was sold out on first come first serve basis.This is the first time that I have heard such an excuse in my 30 years of travel. I even had informed them by mail that we would be a little late due to slight delay in our flights.Totally unacceptable behaviour from such a reputed brand.
