    Good Choice for Princeton Lodging

    rating10 Apr 2026

This is the 5th Princeton-area hotel that I have stayed at over the past several years. Two were challenged in maintenance and cleanliness (crumbs under the mattress--really?) and had indifferent staff. The Westin at Forrestal (separately reviewed) was clean, but the bathroom/sink area was challenging if more than one person was in the room. The Hyatt Regency may be my go-to. Service was attentive and responsive. The room was comfortable. Free-to-borrow items include yoga mat, weights, and electric hot water kettle. There is an indoor pool (did not try). The breakfast buffet is $28 (including tea, coffee, or hot cocoa), which may or may not be worth it. Breakfast places in this area are expensive. It is definitely convenient and in an attractive space, near the indoor koi ponds and lit by the skylights. The food was significantly better than free hotel breakfasts: lox, capers, real maple syrup, Chobani yogurt, strawberries, raspberries, real scrambled eggs (not watered down or over-salted), hot and cold cereals, and a rotating selection of cooked items. The servers, who brought the beverages and took away plates, were attentive. Suggestion to the Hyatt--ditch the standard food-service faux "bagels" and source from the area's real bagel shops (e.g., Bagel Nook). A breakfast menu is also available--I did not use it so cannot comment on what is available. Note when booking rooms: I stayed in an atrium room with balcony. Be aware--there is no outdoor window. The balcony overlooks the atrium, which has pros and cons. There is borrowed light from the skylights, and you can sit on the balcony and sip your beverage (there are two chairs and a small table) and observe the goings on regardless of weather. You can hear music from the atrium--a plus when it's music for brunch and a detriment on Sat night (but not too bad from my room). Rooms with outdoor windows may not have balconies or may face a parking lot.

    Worst Hyatt Regency

    rating03 Apr 2026

The location was run down and not update to standard with the Hyatt brand and certainly not the expectations of a Regency. The staff was not friendly. The facility was gross from trash and crumbs from other guests. The keys to the pool did not work. It took a long time to get responses from the front desk. The room, especially the bathrooms, did not match the pics online. The entire place is in need of a renovation. We Should have stayed in the Hyatt Place instead.

    Wonderful

    rating31 Mar 2026

Our family visits Hyatt Regency Princeton 2 or 3 times a year. Our children love it! They look forward to each visit. The pool is wonderful, large and warm. The lobby is large and very pretty. They love to visit the fish and spend time in the lobby. The food is delicious and staff is kind.

Great experience, thanks to Leah at front desk!

    rating31 Mar 2026

Had a great experience at the Hyatt Regency Princeton, thanks in large part to Leah, the front desk supervisor. She went above and beyond to help resolve a reservation issue and made the whole process smooth and stress-free. Really appreciated her professionalism and kindness, excellent customer service!

    Unique Hotel Design

    rating30 Mar 2026

The hotel had a unique layout that I found very pleasant. The staff was nice and the amenities were good. The room was large and spacious, however the furniture and fixtures were dated. The workout room was fantastic and pool area was nice. The best part was the atrium and bar/restaurant area. It was very pleasant to sit in this area and enjoy a cup of coffee. I would stay there again. Jenna Hertzog, Other at Hyatt Regency Princeton, responded to this review Dear kevinbV4074EC, Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. We are thrilled to hear you enjoyed your stay with us, and we are happy to hear your positive feedback about our staff. We hope travels bring you back to Princeton in the future, as we'd love to have you back.Sincerely,Hyatt Regency Princeton
