At first glance, this property clearly needs updating and some serious TLC.The positives: the room was surface-level clean, and the front desk staff was cordial and welcoming at check-in.Unfortunately, the rest of the experience went downhill from there. The landscaping and exterior areas were unkempt and littered with trash, and the garbage cans were overflowing. It was graduation weekend, so the hotel was obviously busy, but this is still a Hilton property. I expected a higher standard and more pride in maintaining the grounds. The hotel also lacked the newer Hampton Inn look and amenities. It felt several generations behind — “plastic on grandma’s furniture” outdated. The room looked nothing like the online photos, which were allegedly taken only a year ago. Instead of the fresh, clean hotel smell you expect when walking into a room, ours smelled musty and stale, like it hadn’t been aired out in days. I actually brought in an air freshener from my car to help. There were no in-room USB outlets, so bring your own charging blocks. The furniture was worn, chipped, mismatched, and outdated. The coffee table looked like it came from a yard sale. Half the room had virtually no lighting except natural light from the window. We eventually found a desk lamp hidden behind the TV and had to move and replug it ourselves just to comfortably sit on the couch and read.Other maintenance issues included:A cracked full-length mirrorA desk chair too short to use with the mirror above the deskBurn holes in the comforter that housekeeping attempted to hideMismatched bedside lamps where one wall sconce had clearly been removed or broken and hastily replacedOld, stained carpeting that may have been the source of the odorThe bathroom was equally disappointing. There didn’t appear to be an exhaust fan, and the shower fixtures were literally loose and falling away from the wall when touched. Amenities were minimal — no extras, no welcoming touches, not even a laundry bag.A few months after booking our non-refundable reservation, we were notified that construction would be taking place during our stay. No discount or accommodation was offered. Cranes beeped outside our window throughout the day, and at night they occupied a significant portion of the hotel parking lot.Based on other reviews, I even checked the bedding for bed bugs before settling in.Hampton Inns are usually our go-to when traveling, but this property was nowhere near worth the elevated graduation weekend pricing. It’s acceptable for a quick overnight stay if you don’t plan on spending much time in the room, but for anything longer, I would strongly recommend staying elsewhere. This hotel honestly feels like the forgotten stepchild of the Hilton franchise. It desperately needs investment, attention, and care. Our daughter and son-in-law are teachers in the area after graduating from Eastman, so we’ll be visiting Rochester again — but we will not be staying here.

Nice staff, worn property
03 Apr 2026
Good location and friendly staff. The facility needs some attention and deep cleaning. Many wear and tear issues that need to be addressed in public areas and guest rooms. All seating in the breakfast area needs to be replaced (photos attached). Paint touch ups on walls next to bed and cleaning issues in the shower. Also, no body wash provided, and no response to the hotel text service inquiring about said shower gel. Later that night we stopped at the desk to ask and the attendant nicely gave us bars of soap indicating they didn’t have shower gel. Not a big deal, but don’t text us asking how everything is going and then not reply to requests on that text. Floors and elevators need a good deep cleaning. Didn’t try the breakfast during our stay so can’t comment.

Not a Great place

Unfortunately I can only think of two good things. The first one is that the room I was assigned was right next to the elevator and the second is that their shampoo and conditioner is good quality other than that nothing else is worth returning to the hotel. The room had extremely poor lighting. No working outlet at the night table. No extra rolls of toilet paper in the room. No daily cleaning. Breakfast is poor. Front desk customer service is not of great quality

DANGEROUS: Bed Bugs in Room 220 - Management Refused to Help
07 Feb 2026
STAY AWAY. I stayed here Jan 17-18, 2026 (Room 220) with my wife and 3-year-old. I woke up to find a LIVE BED BUG crawling on me and bite marks on my neck. I immediately brought the bug and photos to the front desk. While they eventually refunded the room night, the General Manager (Smit P.) refused to cover the $1,000+ in decontamination costs we incurred to keep our home safe. He claimed there is "no pest issue" despite the physical evidence I handed them.I have reported this to the Monroe County Health Department and Hilton Corporate. Do not risk bringing these bugs home to your family. It is not worth the risk.
