  Overall… The state was very pleasant with accommodating staff, good breakfast options, comfortable beds, great water pressure. There was a large group of guests that arrived after midnight on our second night that made the hallway noise a bit excessive but the hotel can’t control that. The room appeared to be mostly clean except for the tile bathroom floor under the counter, which was kind of gross. The breakfast staff were extremely helpful at keeping everything start with a fairly large number of guests. I do wish there was more seating in the breakfast area… Not enough to accommodate everyone that was there on Saturday or Sunday morning.   You get what you pay for

  2 / 5. The staff were extremely nice and welcoming, but the room was not good. There was the wrong color of paint splashed on the ceiling, stains on the furniture, and hair in the bathroom when we arrived. The hallways are extremely hot and muggy, and in the bathroom there was a half done job to fix a chip on the sink, which looked like someone had just stuck plaster on it, without doing anything else, not even smoothing it out, I originally thought that it was masking tape. Drywall had some chips in it, and there was additional frying on the furniture, along with threads loose on the couch stitching. Would not recommend, sub par at best, there is a hyatt place next door, go there instead.   Bad mildew smell

  As I checked in I was given a room on the upper floor but when I entered the room It had a heavy smell of mildew like if it had a wet carpet smell I did reported to the front desk and they moved me to a room next to it but that room had a smell also so I had to just settle for the time been I was never asked or checked by front desk afterwards it seems they just are not concerned with guests satisfaction Hotel Manager, General Manager at Best Western Plus Hill Country Suites, responded to this review Dear Guest, We are truly sorry the room did not meet expectations and that the smell affected your comfort.   Beware!! Crime problem at this location.

  I am still waiting to be contacted by someone from management from this hotel. We stayed on the evening of July 2nd. Had flights get delayed and arrived for late check in. The following morning, we awoke to find our car had been broken into in the parking lot along with 4 or 5 others. The lady at the front desk explained that the security system (video cameras) haven’t been working for a while and didn’t know why they only had one person on duty as there have been issues with thefts in the recent past. We were offered a simple “sorry that happened” and that was it. No help provided whatsoever from anyone at the hotel. I had to flag down a San Antonio policeman to file a report. I filled out a form after asking for it and was assured someone would get with me. To know this has been happening and still not have working cameras is inexcusable!
